Hello All,

I will be starting Atkins along with my DW on Monday. There is some really good info in here. I finally got my DW to read the book after I have been telling her this is the way we need to live. I tried the Grapefruit Diet 2 years ago and lost 50 pounds but that diet was horrid. I cant stand Grapefruit anymore. I cant have it anyway because I got sucked into taking Statin Drugs for High Chl. I do have a question though? Does eating processed meat with nitrates affect the weight loss at all? I know that it is supposed to be a cause of cancer but is there anything else wrong with it.

brncopowor,
processed meats that contain nitrate, have hidden carbs. Not good while on induction. With only 20 carbs a day, every one counts. Read Atkins essentials - very helpful and informnative on this subject.

brncopowor,

Read It. Sometimes it is very hard to get no nitrate products. I can find bacon at a health food store but that is about it..
