Hi,
I've been lurking for a while and thought I'd introduce myself and say hello. During the time I've been lurking, I've seen lots of good advice and friendly people. My fiance and I started low carbing in mid-June, 2004 and since then I've lost 80 lbs!
I just got some really great news, my CPAP (Continuous Positive Air Pressure) device was set for 15 (I think that's pounds pressure), and I've just had the perscription changed to 9! that is pretty proportional to my weight loss relative to my goal, which means that by the time I reach my goal I may not need it at all. The trouble is I've gotten so used to the darn thing that I may have trouble sleeping without it. :D For those of you that don't know a CPAP device is used to prevent sleep apnia and snoring (as a side-effect).
I have to admit that this has not been a terribly difficult change for me, I rarely get cravings, and when I do I don't seem to have much difficulty dealing with them, not to say I don't cheat occasionally  I really thought it would be more difficult, I really loved my carbs especially french fries, potato chips, fresh bread, etc but since I stared it really hasn't been a problem. Of course I shouldn't speak too soon, my real heavy carb cravings usually coinside with Winter, I'll have to see how the next few months go...
Anyhow thats enough for now!
Happy Holidays All!
