Hubby and I have decided to expand the family and I was wondering if calcium supplements are safe during pregnancy?

Hi - During my research as a doula (labour support/birth attendant) I've never seen any literature suggesting that calcium not be taken prior to conception or during pregnancy. DO take a prenatal vitamin to get the necessary folic acid to avoid neural tube defects - even when you're just "trying". Good luck!!!!
