What a great site! I have just spent well over an hour reading, and have barely made a dent.

My husband and I have both put on a bit of weight since our wedding in 2001, and after I hit the 20 extra lb mark, I said enough was a enough.

My Dr. reccommended South Beach, and I have been on it for a week as of yesterday. I have "cheated" a little. Had two crackers and a half a can of cola, but other than that I have stuck to it religiously, and have actually lost 5 lbs so far. My husband has lost 3 (but he has cheated a little more than me).

I have never in my life had to diet, so the whole thing is an adjustment, and I adore bread and pasta, so I am missing them alot.

But, I am absolutely committed to getting back to my original 135 goal, and if I sticlk with this, I know I am gonna get there!

:rheart: Welcome to the forums! :rheart:

It is a nice place isn't it? There is a lot of support from everyone here and when someone hollers :help: people have answers! ;)

You might want to start a journal so you have a place to log what you ate, something about seeing all your food for the day on screen is a good motivator for many of us! Also you may want to see how your daily nutrition info adds up (a good place to calculate this is www.fitday.com (http://www.fitday.com)). Also a journal is a nice place to record your thoughts away from the hubby and anyone else and also people here can read and offer feedback and encouragement. Here is the link to start a journal and the instructions if you need them (http://forum.lowcarber.org/showpost.php?p=1937294&postcount=1).

You are welcome to come by mine anytime if you like!

Again, welcome...you'll feel at home in no time.

Hi gaylec!

I just joined today also!

LOL~ what your hubby said! :)

Last week, my hubby finally broke down and cried "I WANT RICE!!!"

He's not on the diet, but I've been cooking for me and he finally had had enough! LOL!

Anyway, it's nice to meet you! Hope to talk to you again!
