Hi Sandra,

It can be overwhelming! Have you read any of the LC books? :read2:

That's the first step.

Here is my advice for someone starting out:

1. Stick to what's in the book
2. Stay away from commercialized Low Carb foods (aka Frankenfoods)
3. Use Fitday.com to track your carb/fat/protein ratio and try to hit a 5/70/25 ratio.
4. Keep your fat and calories up there. (That's not as easy as it sounds)
5. Exercise if you can.
6. Try LC recipes to prevent boredom.

Good luck to you! Keep me posted,

Welcome Sandra!

Danakins has some very good advice. Also don't forget -- LOTS and LOTS of
water. A good rule of thumb is 64oz PLUS 8oz for every 25lbs you want to
lose. So I'm aiming for 128+oz / day. So far I'm averaging just over 100oz.

There's alot of great folks and alot of great advice in here. Don't forget to
check out the recipes sections too. Some great tasting gems in there!

Hugs!
