is that whiskey? All of the hard alcohols are carb-free. Sweetened liquers and dessert type alcohols are (obviously) not.

All of the hard alcohols are carb-free.

Be careful on that. Whiskey is typically carb free, yes. Most rums though, especially the spiced kind, are loaded with carbs.

I had no idea that Rum had carbs in it  . The few times that I have went out drinking I've been drinking Rum, thinking is was a liqour that was "safe". I don't drink the spiced kind...I drink Bacardi's...does that have carbs too?

I can't afford Crown Royal, but I do drink Seagram's Seven Crown on a fairly regular basis, and cannot attest to the fact that it is helping me lose weight. I strongly suspect that it is slowing things down for me.....Just my opinion.

Kay, in case anyone is thinking of taking up the habit to lose weight

eddiesgirl, as a liscenced bartender, I feel safe in saying you are ok with the Bacardi Rum. I think it's just the spiced ones, like Captian Morgans, that you have to watch our for. They are not only spiced, but sweetened.

I emailed Capt Morgan's website and asked if it had carbs/sugar and they said no! I still count like 2 carbs for one drink just to be sure.

I like to mix it with Crystal Light fruit drinks. I also really like vodka with crystal light lemonade.

Not sure about wine? I think you would have to look at each bottle....I like Rum with Slenderize Fuse it gives you that fruit thing I once added cream with the tropical fruit one and made a Pina Colada Yum and I also like Peach Fresca and Bacardi a twist on the Fuzzy Navel
Fruit is one of the things I miss and it kind of gives you your fruit fix.

A word of warning: if you're in ketosis, then alcohol will hit you faster that you're used to. With me, it's like one drink has the effect of two. So be careful and pay attention to how you feel rather than ordering what you usually ordered before you were LC.
