Does anyone know if ‘of which sugars’ is the same as ‘sugar alcohol’ ? I believe that both the fibre, poloys & sugar alcohol should be subtracted from the total carb count to get the ECC. As ‘sugar alcohol’ does not seem to appear on UK labelling I would like to know if I can subtract the ‘of which sugars’value?

Hi Lucy,

I'm afraid the answer is "no."
The sugars referred to when a label says total carbs: X, of which sugars Y, simply means what they say - thay are sugars. And sugars definitely can't be subtracted. ;)

I hope I've made that clear for you, Lucy. :)

Cheers.
