Hey, I'm just getting started and doing good. I have a couple of questions I can't find in my Atkin's book. I thought I read that if you really NEEDED pizza, you could take off all the goodies on top - cheese, sausage, mushrooms - and eat it. Not the crust. Is that true? Also, I don't drink a lot of diet pop but I do like it a couple of times a week. I know we should AVOID saccharine but my precious caffeine free diet coke is going to be hard to give up. What say you?
Thanks,
JoAnn

check out the orange bar at the top of your page under low carb recipes -- there is a delicious pizza recipe that has no carby crust! Or just buy the toppings and eat them.
It's good to start with a clean slate and induction helps you to get over the cravings for sweets. Diet Rite makes a cola with splenda -- aspartame causes problems in some. I would limit the colas as much as possible.

No one puts Saccharine in soda anymore.
Too bad really... cause it's the Aspartame (nutrisweet) that you want to avoid.
Try Diet Rite Cola, it's actually quite good!

I love pizza and I find myself making Meatzza's
I smash hamburger in to a thin patty and bake it until no longer bloody. I then drain all the fat and add a very small amount of pizza sauce (if you on induction you may want to skip this part most premed sauces have lots of sugars in them. You could just add Italian seasonings) then add the pizza toppings and cheese on the top of the meat. It totally takes care of my pizza cravings! YUMMY
Hope this helps!

So, it's Diet Rite that doesn't have aspartame. I'll try it and thanks for the replies!

If you are just starting, remember that Induction limits you to 4 oz of cheese. I always forgot about that (and the no nuts thing too. Mental block. :D )
I remember this one (er, FIVE) time(s) when I ate all the toppings and cheese from a large pie in one sitting. Urp!
