Talking tired of whipped cream

I have always loved whipped cream but getting tired of it. So. I decided to make my mother's old fashioned custard sauce. So good on SF jello.

Beat 2 egg yolks and set aside

Scald one cup heavy cream and let cool for a few minutes.
Add cream to eggs. Return to pan and simmer a few minutes, till it thickens slightly. Add 1/4 cup splenda or to taste. Add tsp or
2 of real vanilla extract. Strain and cool.
My mom made this all the time, great change from whipped
cream.

(Here's hoping Dr. A. will be ok)
