Hey everyone, I tried the cauliflower tuna bake, I wasn't crazy about it. I may mess with it and try to get it more to my liking cause I love having a casserole in the frige ready for a side dish. I got a big bag of pork rinds and I am planning to put them in my cuizanart to make powder. These are so handy for so many things. I also have the vinegar and sour cream ones, they are really tasty. I think these would make a great "breading" for chicken or pork chops.

Thanks for the 'rescue' Joyce! LOL!

Cauliflower and tuna? Doesn't even sound too good to me. I love the Cauli-flied Rice recipe on here though and make a Faux-tato Salad at least once every couple weeks or so. The grandkids love it and won't eat regular potato salad any more. They are doing a good job of learning the low carb ropes at the tender ages of 6 and 7 (Oldest daughters 2 older children) They told me today that they won't drink soda pop any more 'cause it 'makes me get in trouble cause it gives me too much energy"! Hey! That's close enough for now!

Joyce, how's the blister? I love this new pair of New Balance walking shoes I just got. Not one bit of 'breaking in' and not one uncomfortable spot!! Boy they feel good! Wonder if they'll last for the 2,110 mile bike ride to St Louis, MO I commited to on the excercise challenge? LOL!

Have a terrific day!

Wow woman, am I impressed! Are you serious about the bike ride? Tell me more please...My shoes are OK if I put kleenex over each heel and lifts in the bottom, otherwise I get blisters on the heel and one right under that lump is (what is that called?)on the outside of your foot. Doesn't that suck, I paid a lot of money for these shoes. They are called 'Easy Spirit'. Not recommending them.

Joyce, there's a bunch of us over on Chloesue's thread (Looking for ladies in their 50's) that are having a cyber challenge excercise thing. SOme of us are doing treadmills, some of us are biking, some are just able to cheer us on for now....you should join us!

Our first thought was to pick a central spot in the US and all head for it. We picked St. Louis and since I'm the one who is the fartherest away, I get to travle farther! LOL! We've since changed it to a more tamed down challenge of going 100 miles or maybe doing just times. Come get involved with us! You like to walk...you've talked about that in your other posts. We're having a blast!

Wish you could try a pair of New Balance shoes! My gosh they are so comfortable! I've paid tons of bucks for shoes before and nothing has felt this good...EVER!

Have a great evening!

LOL Fat! If I figured it out right, riding 5 miles a day it will take me 422 days or about late September, 2004!!! LOL! Hope you'll have some water ready for me when I get there! Hey! You should start in MY direction and we'll meet and both turn around halfway and head back home! What do ya say? Want to join us? We're having so much fun over there. Be even more fun if you were with us.

Good morning Joyce! Gotta write real fast before this thing crashes again!

Here's the addy for the excercise challenge thread...well...that's what it ended up being! LOL!

http://forum.lowcarber.org/showthre...t=125926&page=5

Afraid you'll have to copy and paste it...I can't do those fancy shmancy links!

Check out this website for the shoes...they have a store finder selection button. I checked out their fitting specialists and found a little store right downtown in our town...someplace I NEVER go! I have found them in most of the department and sports stores in this area.

www.newbalance.com

Have a terrific day! I saw you over at the pedometer challenge thread. I might pick up one of thoise and join too! Looks like great motivation!!

Hi and Happy Monday

I will take the plunge and join you because my self-esteem is about as low as a snakes belly right now! I was married for 24 years to an an abusive, raging, womanizing alcoholic. He finally pushed me too far and I left my marriage. I took therapy and was doing just GREAT. A few years later I met a very nice man - gently, kind, considerate and we married after living together for about 6 years. For the first time in my life I discovered sex could be enjoyable. Then two years ago he was diagnosed with prostate cancer and had to have his prostate out. Since then he's a changed man. I know this sounds unkind but the only comparrison I can give to explain the difference that any of you could understand is - when you get a male dog neutered.
My new husband is now withdrawn, has lost interest in almost everything - he sort of goes thru the motions but there is no "life" to him anymore. He went to the doctor for a prescription for Viagara but he can't be bothered to take it regularly and seems disinterested in sex and or affection. I have tried being the agressor, I have tried leaving him alonge, I have taken counceling to try and talk with him, I am at my wits end! He doesn't even want to give or receive affection - it is like we're room mates - totally asexual human beings living together. There used to be such a closeness and intimacy - but intimacy - what's that!
This is why I am desperate to talk with any other women and/or men who have had this operation so I can ask them "is this normal" and if it is "what can I do about it". I am 56 and have a relationship of an 80+ year old!

Any help anybody can give me would be much apprecaited. Thanks

Default juice

Hey everyone, I just wanted to jump on here and share the juice I found today. It's called 'Diet V8 Splash, Tropical Blend', and it has only 3 grams of carbs in an 8 oz. glass. It tastes great! I'ts a little pricey, but it provides some variety to what I can drink besides water...

Hi ladies! Hope this thing doesn't crash again! Been having hiccups again today and we've had thunder showers moving over so have to jump off when they're near.

Suni, your husband sounds like he is in a deep depression! Has he been checked by his doctor for that? I know several men who have had their prostates removed and none of them have reacted that way. That doesn't mean anything...but I would have him checked. My husband went through a terrible depression brought on by substance abuse about 6 years ago and medication was a life saver for him. Funny thing was the substances that he abused were coffee (caffiene) and cigarettes (nicotine)! Had lots of worries over a job he got put on that had 'gone sour' and he worried himself right into an 'almost' breakdown. See if you can talk to hubby's doctor about that possiblity. Good luck Honey!

Joyce I saw that juice just today! Didn't buy it though because I had something else I wanted to try. I went crazy buying sugar free davinci syrups today! Bought 21 different flavors and just poured a glass of Club Soda...no carbs...and added sf root beer syrup..no carbs. It isn't half bad!! I got all of the syrups at our local Cash and Carry store that supplies the restaurants and such. It's a great place to get some real bargains! For example..I pay almost $7 for the large bottle of davinci in the local Safeway store...it's $3.69 at C & C! How does Toasted Coconut low carb home made ice cream sound?! Or blueberry, or German Chocolate Cake? Oh the possibilities!! I use the hazlenut in my coffee every morning with real cream so I don't have to buy the International coffee creamers any more.

Gotta go check into the excercise thread. See ya later!

Steaks, do you always buy store bought LC drinks and foods? It seems to me all that stuff has too many carbs in it. How many carbs a day do you eat anyway. I keep mine down 20 or under. I have a hard time losing otherwise. I looked at LC foods at the store before.... and they had my whole day of carbs in them for just one serving.

DeAnna, actually I hardly buy any special low carb foods. We're surrounded with good natural foods that work into the diet so well that it isn't necessary in my opinion to buy 'special'...which just means processed. Those I avoid period.

I bought the sf davinci syrups for several reasons. They can be used in everything from ice cream as flavoring PLUS sweetener with zero carbs to main dishes and drinks. We're trying to break Jims Pepsi addiciton by using club soda...no carbs...flavored with the syrup...no carbs. My drink of choice is plain water. Yes I got carried away, but now the whole family can have a ball trying out the flavors and see which ones they like to buy for themselves. I had the money to do this...they don't. We all benefit.

My docs have asked me to keep my carbs at 60 per day. Any lower and my kidney function goes wonky. After having kidney failure twice...I listen. I am impressed with any of you that can do the diet in the spirit with which Dr A designed it. I cannot do it that way which is why weight loss for me will be excruciatingly slooooooow. But the health benefits of this WOE are mine and will remain mine forever.

Have a good evening all!

Ok Steaks, now I understand you a little better. Thank you for telling me all this.
My husband also is an addict to Pepsie. Poor guy cannot go a day without a six pack. That is why he has so many health problems. All that sugar. I read there is 9 teaspoons in one 12 oz can. Sickening huh? I also used to drink it but thank God LC took all that from me.

Can you pm me and explain to me in detail how to post a pic. I have tried and cannot figuare it out. Say's my pics are too big or something. How do you get them the right size? I would really appreciate it Steaks. Thank you.
I missed talking to you yesterday. Do you have a day job?
