Thumbs up you will miss the cheeseburger no more!

Hey,
Last night I made cheeseburger burritos. I browned some ground beef with some chopped onions, drained the fat and added some heavy cream (about 2-3 tablespoons) and about a cup of shredded cheddar cheese, mix it all up, will be a creamy cheese sauce. Then I used low carb tortillas and filled them up with the groung beef mixture, and all the trimmings that I would put on a regular cheeseburger. no sugar ketsup, mayo, mustard, lettuce, onions, tomatoes, even pickles. This was a huge hit with the family, easy and satisfing. No one even missed the bun. The variations are limited only to your imagination. HA! I had a legal cheeseburger.

Hope you try it, Zima

Thumbs up tortillas

I love Low Carb tortillas! I use them in place of a burger bun for those times when I just have to have a burger on a bun. They are also great with chicken, tuno or shrimp salad rolled up in them...well, just about anything is good rolled up in them!

They are also great for making quesadillas with any number of types of ingredients...

low-carb tortillas????

Please, what is the brand name and where did you find them, because it seems Mexican food is becoming one of the things I've had the hardest time giving up!

Here is a link to a low carb tortilla brand that somebody recomended in another post.

http://www.latortillafactory.com/

Their low carb tortillas feature 12 grams of carbs(9 grams from dietary fiber) for a net count of 3 grams per tortilla.

Don't order them from Vitaglow. These must be kept in the fridge and ten days in shipping made them old and awful. So I now have 15 packs I can't eat.

Sounds great. Living where I do, it's hard to get away from tortillas and such. I think I will have to give LC tortillas a shot. Thanks

I buy low-carb tortillas at Trader Joe's. They are La Tortilla brand and are really good. I eat one every morning warmed up with butter. I think it's $1.49 for a pack of six- not bad at all!

Default low carb tortillas

Just thought I would jump in here quick about the lowcarb tortillas. I found them at a local health food store. They are absolutely wonderful. Actually, we like them better than the corn or white flour.

Default Try a diabetic store

Norna June,

I don't know Ontario well, but in Calgary, AB I found LC tortillas in a local diabetic shop. If you have any diabetic food stores try calling them. They might have some or be willing to get some in. Good luck because they really are a treat!

Thumbs up low carb tortillas

Hi Norma June, Low Carb tortillas are available in Canada. Go to Low Carb Food Depot Canada. Vey nice folks. They are only a few minutes from my house so I can pick up but I'm sure they can ship to you. they have a good selection of stuff. Good luck, you live in a fabulous place. Looks like spring is finally coming.

Nancy

Just a note, several products are out of stock but they are also out of stock in the stores. My local health food store had to pull all the atkins and keto muffin mixes because they don't have bilingual labels.

I tried this last night, the only change I made was I added homemade taco seasoning, tex mex cheese, and wrapped it in cabbage leaves. It was sooo good! My husband even came out and said it was good. You usually have to ask him. Thanks for the recipe!

I buy the Don Pancho brand low carb tortillas at WalMart. Only 3 net carbs each. I love 'em!
