In the first three months I was losing on average about 2lbs per week but in the last three months it's only been about 0.3lbs per week!

Hi,
I've been doing atkins for 9 weeks and lost 10 kgs in the first month. which im pretty happy about. I havent lost any what so ever in the last 5 weeks, which is annoying! But not giving up, i supose the last 5 kilos are always the hardest to lose. I like this way of eating too much too change it now. I gave up alcohol when i started atkins and took up walking on the treadmill 5 days a week. I havent been taking measurements on a regular basis, so im not too sure about inches. Im letting my clothes tell me that story. Im usually on about 35g carbs a day (ive tried lowering it, but it didnt help me lose any weight. So it would seem im stuck at this weight!
The extra energy I have is well worth sticking with atkins even if i never lose another kilo
Good luck on your weightloss journey, you're all doing well

Hi

I'm new - have been on Atkins since Monday, 18 July and today 24 July I can happily report that I've lost 2.97kgs.

Just wondering, how do you really know you're in Ketosis?

They sell ketostix at most pharmacies. They are strips of ph style chemical that you use like a pregnancy test. Wait the allotted time (15 seconds for most) and it will tell you if you are producing keytones, how many there are, etc. Most people check in the morning, when keytones are most present.

As for average loss... I don't have one! I lost 14lbs during the first 2 weeks, then 10lbs/month for the next to months, then nothing for the next 3 weeks, now though - I've lost 3lbs since Wednesday. *shrug*

I am losing an average of 1 lb a week. I am over 50 years old, so it seems to be slower than the other two times (age 37 and age 47) that I took off about 20 lb.

I look like I have lost 13 lbs in total, over a period of 8 weeks, which is WOW 1.6 lbs per week. At that rate, I to lose another 28 lbs it will take another 17 - 18 weeks.

Mine is averaging out at 2.66 per week and I am over 50 so I am well pleased with that but I am only 6 weeks in, I am sure it will slow down but for now I am happy happy happy
