Finished my carb up last night and this morning, I weighed in with only an extra 3 kilos. Can someone tell me if this is enough, considering I have about 77 Kg LBM. I just don't feel like its enough???

It seems like a substantial gain of weight to me. Anyways, don't get too worked up over the scale. The purpose of the 'carb-up' is to supercompensate the muscles (and replenish glycogen stores)- it's not a 'lets see how much weight I can gain' period.

Default looks good

3 kilos is about right.

It's my typical gain from supercomp (6 lbs) ... well except for this weekend anyway. Only got 2 lbs, and I was carbbing like mad. Hmmmmmm ....

Hmm, I'm actually going to 'carb-up' this weekend (I'm taking a little break from the 'TKD'). I've been following a 'SKD' basically for the past few weeks. I'm READY for that 'carb-up'. I just have to make sure I detail it and make sure it's PERFECT. Dan, HELP ME, I need a 'carb-up' detailed for me or something. I really can't afford to have any fat spill-over at this point...

low fat poptarts
gummy orange slices
Fiber One cereal
english muffins
Ham n chz sandwich
Kettle corn
Mac n chz
pizza
few bites of non-fat ice cream

I rationed fat pretty carefully to leave room for the pizza. This *totally* reminds my of Susan Powter, except on her deal you could only have 10 g fat - or maybe it was 20. I used to go through a six-pack of bagels in a DAY. I tracked cals back then and I could do 2500 cals at 160 lbs and not gain. I wasn't losing either, of course, exept probably muscle because it's pretty hard to get any protein on only 10 g of fat!

6:10 pm and the carb headache hit about half an hour ago. :P Guess that means I did it right, cuz I never got them before...

Cheers,

Friday

I got 2.5Kg ~ 7lbs, this carb up. Considering I ate 1400g + of carbs in 24 hours, I didn't think this was that much...I know what you said zeus, I guess I should be happy I could eat that much and not gain a huge amount...

3xprotein shakes, with low-fat ice cream, skim milk, and dextrose
(100g carbs each), 300g total

no fat lollies , 300g total

pasta, 200g total

low-fat ice cream, 200g total

low-fat pancakes, 200g total

protein bars, 100g total

bread, 100g total

Plus sugar and syrup on pancakes, some pretzels, and a tiny bit of chocolate, so I would have taken in a bit more. Just thought, I would have put on more weight...

Talking *burp*...

I finally had a 'carb-up' day yesterday. I don't even know how many carbohydrates I ate; fat intake was minimal though (under 60 grams). I had:
-Pancakes with syrup
-Fat-Free ice cream
-'Pull n' Peel' Twizzlers
-Entemanns FAT-FREE danish (it was so damn good)
-Lucky Charms
-Cinnamon Toast Crunch (of course)
-Oatmeal
-Low-fat Pop Tarts

-I basically spent the day in a sugar induced coma or taking a crap... ahh, I love carbohydrates.

Oh God, that is a funny message. Sugar induced coma indeed. The Entemanns danish has just been added to my menu for next week, thanks for that one, I think the fat free Ice Cream also will make it on there. My roomate though I was a total freak (bedies my eating habits during the week) when I started my carb up yesteday with 4 bowls of CApt' Crunch, then when I couldn't eat anymore, I took 3 scoops of my creatine, which is 410 calories, all super-sugars, with ALA, Glut, ext.... I almost puked for like 30 min, then fell fast, fast asleep.

-When I'm doing a 'carb-up' my family/friends are usually quick to point out what I'm eating; typically, I have this conversation with a family member or friend every time I 'carb-up':

-Friend: 'I thought you were on a low-carb diet'...
-Me: 'I am.'
-Friend: 'then why are you eating carbohydrates?'
-Me: 'It's part of the diet.'
-Friend: 'Umm, I don't get it.'
-Me: *Explains the science/importance of 'carbing-up' in mind numbing detail*
-Friend: 'Ahh, I see, that makes sense.'
-Me: 'You didn't understand a word I said, did you?'
-Friend: 'Nope, no I didn't.'
-Me: 'Leave me alone with my Cinnamon Toast Crunch... BE-GONE HEATHEN!'

Side note- do you ever notice that when people know you're on a 'diet'- it becomes a topic of conversation over and over and over again (usually when you're eating something they’ll ask 'Is that allowed on the diet?' etc. etc. etc.).
