Thanks

Jenn, the exact amount will be determined by the formulas you fill out in the book. You need to know your body fat percentage and consequently your lean mass to get your minimum protein requirement.

But I see from your profile that you know these numbers! At 200 lbs with 41% BF you have a lean mass of approximately 118 lbs. Assuming a sedentary lifestyle you should eat at least 70g of protein a day (118 x .6g day). If you are at all active you would increase this number (.7g / .8g / .9g). Keep in mind that this is the minimum - it's not an upper limit. Eating more protein isn't a crime or a sin

Default Do you HAVE to have the minimum or above

What happens if you keep your carbs below 30 but don't reach your minimum protein amount? If it doesn't matter, then why figure out your protein at all?

Yaya,
If you dont get enough protein you will break down your muscle instead of the fat.

You dont want to do that. You are wanting to convert fat to muscle.
