For me, The problem with getting my potassium from meat is that I love all my meat with salt. It would be unthinkable to eat a pork chop without salt. And of course, salt ups a body's need for potassium. To me, salt substitutes have a bitter flavor that I really don't care for. However, on beef, I'm able to do a first coat of salt substitute and then follow that with a once over with my pink sea salt grinder, and I find the substitute doesn't change the taste much, but chicken doesn't have enough flavor for me, so I just use salt and follow my meal with 6 or 7 potassium pills.
Haven't tried pork chops since I discovered my potassium needs, so I don't know if I can do my double dose trick and not compromise flavor too much.
