new podcast interview with author: http://livinlavidalowcarb.com/blog/...-with-fat/27415
Lots of talk about calories and energy balance but heavy on the studies about how Fat works too.

I understand how the whole CICO thing got started: we can force our body to use its energy reserves by cutting calories; we can burn off additional calories through force.

But as so many of us now understand, this is a stressful thing for us, mentally and physically. So this particular attitude should be discarded, and that is my complaint, based on what I've heard about this book.

What does Dr. Fung call it? Calorie restriction as primary (crap), I think it was. I think it's a good way to look at it. Keeping an eye on calories helps me get leaner, but if I ignore the general makeup of my diet and just eat what ever I want without paying attention to carb content etc., it's just plain miserable. I can feel miserable and hungry on 2000 calories, or I can feel well-fed.
