Thanks bevangel! (cleaned out my box).

I had a good and easy lowcarb food day. I joined a tops club. Not doing their diet and may not ever do more then weigh-in. The thought of wasting money on this club and the embaressment of weighing in and not losing are motivators to stick to it.

Best wishes to you Jess, you do have a lot going on.

Well done Nawchem

Wishing to give you some encouragement... There is such a whole lot to love on a LC lifestyle.

Everyday I notice improvements in my health. Sometimes it's less inflammation in my joints. Sometimes it's more energy and sometimes a feeling of euphoria will come over me and I know without a doubt that I'm giving my mind and body everything it needs to function at optimum levels.

And what's not to love about the food? It's rich and sinfully delicious. Coffee with cream, whole avocados, turkey with juicy crispy skin.

You can even cheat if you want to...just make sure it's something good. My fav cheat is SF dark choc mint patties from the freezer.

Be kind to yourself and enjoy the journey

Thanks for the encouragement, everyone. I'm trying to stay positive, but it's hard when I haven't slept enough in a year and my eyes hurt because of their night nonsense.

Day 2 of zero artificial sweeteners (stevia/erythritol only) and zero gluten. For 21 days. If it doesn't fix my Sjogren's symptoms, then dairy is going for 21 days. Then nuts, then nightshades...chocolate and coffee will be the last to go though. I'll go for expensive sensitivity tests before I agree to give those up.

LoCarber- I used Sugarfreemom's pumpkin cheesecake mousse and a coconut flour crust from this recipe: http://www.quarterlifecrisiscuisine...cakes-with.html
I halved the mousse and used the crust from the other and it made an 8x8 pan of the no-bake cheesecake.

Last night when I was looking for a lc thxgiving dessert I tried a mug cake recipe and it was amazing!!! and so easy
I made it w 2tbs of almond flour, 1tbs of coconut flour, 1 egg, half tsp b soda, skinny vanilla syrup and 3 blackberries.
Next time I want to go crazy and make a chocolate lava with cacao nibs and Hersheys sf choc syrup.
Would love to hear more about mug cakes from anyone. I'm a huge fan

I just make a chocolate mug muffin (using 1.5tbsp cocoa powder) and break up a square of dark chocolate and stuff it in the middle. For the icing, I mix a serving softened cream cheese with almond milk or milk (a couple tbsp) and a little sweetener and mix.

Thanks Locarber!!!!!

I'm feeling extremely hungry and that gift Godiva chocolate sitting 2 feet away was enticing. But now going to store and going to make some kind of soup.

I have a weird feeling this hunger would be from the tbsp of bbq sauce I had. This is the first time I've felt hungry in days.

Jess I'm sorry to hear of your eye problems. I don't have anything at your level but I had dry eye problem my whole life, in my teens I became addicted to visine. In middle age my eyes were so dry they would burn. This is a suggestion made in total ignorance of your issue but the one thing that helped me has been progesterone cream. Surprisingly it helped with water retention and chocolate addiction too.

Is the test you mentioned an antibody test?

I haven't tried progesterone cream. I keep thinking about it. I know that if it isn't really Sjogren's syndrome (even though I have all the symptoms, but no Sjogren's antibodies in the bloodwork) then it has to be a hormone imbalance somewhere in the cascade. Might be worth a try.

I'm not an expert on the food sensitivity test science, but I believe it tests antibodies. I haven't looked too closely into it because it is very expensive. My deductible is astronomical. My insurance is really only good for catastrophic medical emergencies and/or cancer. But I've read that if you already have leaky gut issues, caused by something big like gluten, then your system can get so hyperalert that you will develop antibodies to other foods that sneak in as a result of the gut permeability, but, if you can heal that and let the system calm down, then some of the reactional sensitivity will stop. So waiting on the test will reveal true sensitivities better. All I know is my coffee isn't as good without my sucralose, and that I miss my afternoon diet soda. Truvia/Pyure just isn't the same, but it's tolerable. But oh well...

Though I could eat a lb of salt right now and not blink an eye. It's very weird.

Sorry to hijack the thread, Ken.

Jess I have something like what you describe. I had antibody tests to IgE and IgG. Had a lot of IgG the endo thinks is related to wheat intolerance. I have to admit I feel a lot better for having cut that out along with Lowcarb.

I have not been doing great. I wait too long to eat 6+ hours (and by then I'll eat anything and I do).

Its cold, its dark early and finals are in 10 days and I'm behind. Comfort food sounds good right now.

Going to weigh and assess damage.

Hang in there! If you can, bring an OP snack with you. Also if you are needing comfort foods, redefine and find some comfort foods that are OP.
