This is my first serious attempt at a hflc diet, I've always done a low calorie diet. So it's a big change for sure. I have to say though that I'm not hungry like I was constantly on a low calorie diet, which is wonderful. Of course, I'm only a week in...I think my challenge will be to get creative and try some of the recipes on the site, not just cook a steak and eat 2 cups of romaine, as I am a lazy chef! ;-)

Just keep reading on the web. I never ate turnips, rutabaga, radishes, like it do now. I miss them, now and then if I've given them a pause, and they are great raw, sliced for dips. Also jicama. If you keep expanding what you eat, if will be easy to succeed. Look for frying cheeses, there,s a Greek one and a Hispanic one, if you are not familiar,

Squarecube, I will check out the cheeses you recommend for sure.
I like the idea of turnips for dipping...I hadn't thought of that!
Thank you for helping me along..

Contigo is good with nice colors; also check Ozark Trail and Mossy Creek...both Yeti-looking 20 or 30 oz Walmart copies. I saw the Yeti rambler keeping ice all day at the beach and wanted one, but not at $40 for a cup! For anyone who likes ice water, and deals with intense summer heat, the Ozark Trail 30 oz for $9.74 is great, also snagged the 20 oz for hot coffee. http://www.walmart.com/ip/Ozark-Tra...umbler/49772708

Janet, thanks for the suggestions. I'm glad I have a few different brands to look for, in case I have trouble locating a particular one.
I really appreciate your help, and the helpfulness and kindness of everyone I've dealt with on this site. So glad I found y'all. It's really made a difference to me. I'm motoring right along, and I think part of my success is due to this site; so much good information.

Oh, Janet reminds me, Maeve. Don't buy the Contigo mugs from a store.

They are MUCH less on Amazon--I know this, because I buy them wholesale and sell them there. Husband has one of their Target branded ones, called "Contigo Bueno". It was his Father's Day gift from Second Son and his wife.

It doesn't seem as beefy, but still better than the run of the mill insulated mug.
