- Yep, buckling an airplane seatbelt with no extension is one of mine, too.
- Fit into movie theater seats without worrying about whether or not someone is going to sit next to me, so I'll have to spend the whole 2 hours scrunched into myself so I'm not spilling into their seat
- Shopping in the "normal" section
- Coming off of my hypothyroid medication
- Going on hikes with my friends without worrying about being the one that slows everyone down
- Sleeping all the way through the night, every night, like I used to
- Wearing a pair of knee-high boots without having to think about how tight they are on my calves (that is, if I can get them on at all...)
- Being able to shop at thrift stores. I find that only smaller sizes are available in thrift shops
- Being able to do all the fun excursions when my husband and I go on cruises, like ziplining, horseback riding, and parasailing

Gosh, I'm sure there are more, but... one day at a time, sticking to the plan! I'm eating the best food I've ever eaten in my life and I feel awesome. I'll get there, and sooner than I think

Jess, I could have put your goals downs to. Being fat limits ones quality of life so much.

Goal for March - fit comfortably in amusement park rides, because we're going to Disney! I think I'm close, and I am so thankful I started this seriously last January 1, 2016. It has been a year of slow and steady progress - I intend 2017 to be the same. I have hit some of my non-scale goals over the year: I am able to fly without an extender belt (just barely, but that belt DID buckle!); I can fit in a movie theater seat normally, not perched kind of scrunchy to the side because my butt was too big to fit in the seat properly; I can get out of my work chair without worrying that I will get stuck on the arm rests and knock the thing over. There are so many things I appreciate being able to do again; and they keep me motivated to stay on plan. Slow progress IS still progress.

Completed. I did it a few times to make sure it wasn't a fluke. I can get up and down from floor now using no assistance, just legs. Mainly it was about loosing enough belly fat to be able to get my center of mass over the direction of force that the legs create in the scissor position, that and giving the move an honest to goodness explosive try.

It took me over a year to accomplish this. It happened without me doing much of anything FOR OVER A YEAR other than sticking to a basic plan of eating. So please, do yourself a favor and do something, anything, for significant amount of time before thinking stuff like, "just isn't working for me. I must be different! I can't do this.., etc..."

You can do this too when your body is ready and impress your friends and neighbors

So it's been a little over two months, and I can now:
- Fit comfortably into movie theater seats again
- Go on hikes and NOT slow everyone down. I'm big, but honey I can MOVE
- I now sleep all the way through the night *almost* every night. Fridays are still up in the air, but it may have something to do with television. Jury's still out.

What what! Slow and steady wins the race, it seems

Congrats Jess. Slow and Steady is right. After some time doing this I also found out that there is no race. The race ended after I made a change in mind (actually was the other way around - the mind changed then the decision came to it) , followed by some persistent and gentle actions.

I decided last night my first NSV is to fit back into my jeans. Buying a new, larger size is not an option.

Thud- there is no race: I love it! It's so true.

Tracy: WAY TO GO! Congrats on fitting into every ride at Disney, that is no small feat! And I'm glad to hear that you're feeling so great, that's awesome

Susan: I was SO THERE when I first started this WOE. I had finally outgrown my jeans and I couldn't face buying another size up. You are on your way!

I hope its ok just to chime in here...

My non-scale goals are:

Be able to ride my horses again.

To fit in all the rides at universal studios and disney. I went to cedar point one year and could barley fit any of those rides and I felt left out and missed those riding memories with my kids

To fit into a beautiful dress on our May cruise and do the ropes course without being told I'm to large! Oh and ride the slides on the cruise as well. There is a weight limit....

Have a variety of clothing to choose from instead of plus size only.

I would love to water ski again cause its been yearsssss!

Be able to fit in booths at restaurants without it squishing me.

There is a 12 mile hike in the smokies that I couldn't do last year and I had to turn around and let it defeat me. So I would love to be able to ace that!

I want to be able to stand up and walk without knee pain.
I want to be included in pictures and not be embarrassed of how I look.
I want to be able to wear a swimsuit without shame
I want to ride my horse
I want to be more agile
I want to go to reunions without shame
I want to wake up with no aches and pains
I want to be able to go places without worrying about how far I will have to walk or if there are stairs to climb
I want to feel good
