Well THAR SHE BLOWS.....
Gopod luck and prayers with you today Paulette, hope it all goes well!
Cricket I dont raise the Himalayan breed, however their signature COLOR (pure white body, colored points at nose, feet, ears, and tail, ruby eyes) exists in other breeds--- in my breed, Holland Lops, it is technically called "pointed white", but "himi" is still the nickname many people recognize for that color. They have himis in Netherland Dwarfs as well. (and in NDs the color IS technically called himalyayan). NDs are the smallest breed of rabbit and they are dang cute-- they can tend to be really active and even a bit nervy compared to bigger breeds-- kind of like the general difference between big dog and little dog personalities, or draft horse and pony... The Himalayan BREED, while not too much bigger, is known for being calm and placid-- a good breed for younger youth to show because they are generally pretty tolerant of being hauled around by kids. My breed, holland lops, are kind of in between-- they are the smallest lop breed, but they arent typically as nervy as Netherland Dwarfs can be. Both HLs and NDs are "dwarf gene" breeds-- if you are thinking about breeding rabbits and like the dwarf breeds, the dwarf gene in rabbits is something to read up on, since in dwarf breeds you will have some neonate fatalities because of it-- comes with the breed traits.
I chose the name "Himadri" for my rabbitry name, because I am working with the "himi" color, and the Himadri mountain range is the tallest range in the Himalayan Mountains. This color is uncommon in Holland Lops and because its not common, and not many breeders work with it, body/head/general type is not up to par in the general population of pointed whites/himis.... so I am working on improving type.... and eventually darkening point color (which is a slooow process because improving type necessitates breeding out to other colors which, among other things, can affect point color negatively... but its possible to bring it back around.)
Here is one of my favorite little bucks--
