The Tulane study left a lot to be desired, mainly a valid tool to measure fat loss. They used bio-electrical impedence, fer chrissakes — a method that's known to have an error range of ±15%! Plus, the initial study report didn't even explain what the content of the nutrition counseling was, so we don't know what they were supposed to eat. That, plus a lot of other yellow flags, justifies — at best — another study to correct the show-stopping flaws of this one.
