Yes, the hot flashes lessened (I was aging too of course) but discharge/dryness and muscle aches got worse. Most joint pain went away after starting LC, so that was more the gluten, but I just overall felt better and all joint issues resolved as it slowly left my body. I was tested at 2 1/2 yr and found to be a "high responder" to tamoxifen, thus didn't switch to an aromatase, and at four years doctor & I choose to stop it. Some women bail on tamoxifen even earlier, so I am comfortable, though now some recommendations for use are now longer.

I have definitely noticed that when starting back on low carb a couple of weeks ago, the hot flashes returned almost immediately. Previously they had slowly tapered off over a year or so and were virtually gone. Then gave up the carbs and they came rushing back pretty strongly. After a couple of weeks on this WOE, they are lessening slowly. I think it must really be true that estrogen is stored in fat cells and when you begin to lose weight, the cells shrink and estrogen is expelled back into the bloodstream, causing hot flashes. So, I welcome them now because they seem to be an indicator that the weight is coming off.

Whoah. Kelly, that's amazing. Okay I'm going to be happy about my hot flashes then.

Default Estrogen

I have read in various places that estrogen is stored in fat and when it's released, it can cause effects such as hot flashes and bloating. It may pay to take natural progesterone to balance hormones.

I had horrid hot flushes and night sweats. I am almost done menopause & had ovaries and tubes removed a week and a half ago. Still waiting to know whether tumors were cancerous or not. My menopause has been going 9 years now. Still married!

See? You retained your sense of humor! That's why you're still married!
