congratulations.

A loss of 1-2 pounds a week is wonderful, normal with your meds and age considered, which gives time for your skin to adjust and for you to tone up muscle. Don't be surprised if there will be weeks with no weight loss but you may feel "smaller" and lose inches. It is not a race to your goal but to a new healthy way of eating.

Hi - Im confused. I bought some ketone strips the other day and whenever I test my urine it says im not in ketosis (once I did had a trace of ketones). Im having well under 20g of carbs a day so dont know why this is so. Can anyone help? Could it be that Im not eating very much of anything?
Having said this - I am losing weight - its slow but that doesnt matter to me. Lost another 1 and a half this week - 11.5 pounds in 5 weeks.

Tigratart - I used to use the keto strips, but figured out that they tend to show darkest when I was dehydrated. If you are drinking plenty of water, trace amount is fine. Trace is all you need to know you are in ketosis. Now, I gauge ketosis by symptoms. When I quit being hungry, and can not obsess over food, I am probably in ketosis. When food starts to sound NOT appealing, I am definitely in ketosis. When I am peeing ALL the time, I am probably in ketosis. I wouldn't worry about it at all as long as the scale is going down.

Why you need to stop worrying about the color of your Ketostix:
http://ketopia.com/why-you-need-to-...-your-ketostix/

The type of ketones change within weeks. There many threads on how useless they are on this forum as well, but this is a good article explaining the 3 types of ketones.
