So, did you trash them? If you know any teachers, give them to them, to put in the lounge or to give out as reward treats.

The toys worked out great. No one seemed disappointed and my house is untrashed. :-)

I had an overabundance of candy, too. Let's just say the last few trick-or-treaters went home very happy.

I got husband to get them out of the house and he is going to try and return the 5 unopened bags and I told him to trash the other two. He better do it if he knows what's good for him because he is on Low-carb now too and we're are checking his BS every day since we fund out it was so high. Good thing he was getting accustomed to LC for dinner every night and now it's not such a shock to him. He really went cold turkey and I gave him his own Adkins book since I lucked out and found some used ones for 25cents each last month.

A little late, but...

We've been giving out halloween themed pencils and erasers for > 10 years.
This year we added those cheap little plastic "parachute men", small rubber bouncy balls, and "vampire teeth."

For the toddlers (and younger) we give out fruit rollups or something similar.

These work very well, since the younger kids are excited about them, and the older teens (who shouldn't really be out begging anyway) are disappointed.

The Halloween question reared its ugly head on a low carb FB page. Posting a public FB page with a list of 25 cool candy substitutes. Stop poisoning our kids.

That's a great list, Janet!

I found this hilarious and wish they were real so I could pack them in my husband's lunches.
