I hardly feel qualified to answer, since I've only been on Atkins for 2 1/2 weeks. But even after just that tiny amount of time, I can honestly say that I don't obsess over candy like I have for the last umpteen years.
Used to be that, mid-morning every day, I was headed to the drug store to get my boxed-candy-of-choice. If I couldn't, because of work meetings, weather, etc, I would jones BAD, and do all kinds of crazy things to try and get there. It sounds ridiculous saying it out loud, but it's true.
But while I still wish I could eat bread, potatoes, and corn, the former mainly just because it tones down the strong flavors of other things, it's honestly more just for convenience than a real *craving*. Even my own recent cheat was just because I was so tired of working so hard to stay on plan; I was *tired* of having to think so hard about food, and just wanted to EAT something already.
So yeah, I've already seen a dramatic change in the candy cravings, and hope to see change in my habits and tastes as time goes by. I suppose it probably really is an individual thing. :-/
