Default One reason why mice studies don't work...

The mice are too cold.

Comfy Mice Lead to Better Science: Are Cold Mice Affecting Drug Testing?
Quote:
ScienceDaily (Mar. 30, 2012) — Nine out of 10 drugs successfully tested in mice and other animal models ultimately fail to work in people, and one reason may be traced back to a common fact of life for laboratory mice: they're cold, according to a researcher at the Stanford University School of Medicine.

The other reason mice nutrition studies don't "work," i.e., apply to people, is that mice didn't evolve to thrive on a ketogenic diet; humans did. Even if the chow composition were comparable to a LC WOE, they're simply not good analogs for human reactions.

The drug manufactures need to put a warning on their drugs - "Take only when cold, do not get warm."
