Yesterday, I put a little chocolate extract and raspberry extract in my yogurt - quite an indulgence!

How?

Lindt 85 or 90
TBS powdered chocolate in greek yogurt, coffee, or hot cocoa
Coconut bark or macaroon drizzled with coconut oil "magic shell"

i almost always have a bar of 85 or 90 lying around- having 2 squares with a glass of wine or a cup of coffee is really nice.

Why?
Other than the obvious (um, it's chocolate), it has the antioxidants going for it, too

What is this coconut bark you speak of? Can you really make a bar that tastes like coconut and choco? OHHH, can you imagine a Samoa?! Well, now they are called a Caramel Delight, which is ridiculous, everyone still calls them Samoa's.

The recipe I got from here was 1/4 cup butter, 1/4 cup coconut oil, 1/8 cup cocoa, splenda or truvia to taste. Melt butter and CO in microwave then add cocoa and sweetner and stir. I vave mine in a small square microwave glass dish and then freeze. Others use mini-muffin tins. I stir a few chopped walnuts into mine. Others suggest when using the mini muffin molds to put a layer of peanut butter between two chocolate layers to make a PB cup.

I,m not a all or nothing type person so if its my TOM and I have to have it I buy a Dove dark chocolate bar and let one square slowly melt in my mouth and give the rest to the kids. Done deal and it doesn,t cause me any problems. Any other time of the month I just have a Atkins chocolate drink. But I am wierd in that if I know I can have it I don,t need it anymore. I go threw one or two drinks a month. I also have Atkins chocate bars and lowcarb pudding in there that I haven,t touched for months at a time. I just seem to need to know that I have some chocolate on hand that I can have and stay on plan if I really want it.

I just ordered a 12 pak of these Endangered Species 88% dark chocolate on amazon. Can't wait to get it. The other one that I like is the Lindt 85% dark.

Absolutely agree with the dark chocolate (85%) suggestions - it's actually good for you in moderation, and the feel good "kick" may even keep other cravings at bay...

I use about an ounce of grated chocolate in my chilli recipe. It adds a depth and richness to the taste which is ... mmmm yummy!

'Venezuelan black" (which sounds as though I should be smoking it) is from this guy:

http://williescacao.com/fine-chocolate/products/

It's just solid cacao with no added anything.

Love chocolate. There was a study done recently that suggests 40g per day of dark chocolate a day helps relieve both depression and chronic fatigue syndrome. Sounds good to me

I only eat it when I'm not trying hard to lose. I find the high percentage stuff so different from the sugar filled stuff I used to eat that it doesn't seem to be a problem food, in terms of triggers. That said, it needs to be 85% for that to be the case, if I drop to 70% I could eat the whole bar.

This is me all over. I buy those Ghirardelli squares in bags, and find I go through the 72% much faster than the 86%. And I can't seem to treat them as a special treat- they become an everyday munch. So, I've decided to keep them away for now. What I do instead is mix in some cocoa powder and truvia to whipped cream or make a chocolate milk with unsweetened almond milk and SF chocolate syrup.

It's funny because when I wasn't on low carb, I did not crave chocolate. I didn't like it unless it was just a little bit mixed in with something else. I didn't have a sweet tooth.

When I am on low carb, I get HUGE, incredible cravings for chocolate. I don't know why?

The other night I was craving it, but didn't have any in the house, so I took a spoonful of peanut butter sprinkled with Splenda. That took my craving away.
