Wink Dr. Oz

He always seems to go overboard with all of his advice. I used to watch him faithfully but now I can handle that depressing feeling I get when I watch him. He makes me feel like I can't do anything right...eat (nope), sleep(nope), drink (nope), Oh well...why go on. I think I will just go eat a steak!!!

Very insightful, katyw8y. Only, after Dr. Oz makes you dissatisfied, you are supposed to go consume some Oprah food or goods, I think, not a steak!

Have you noticed his "success stories" come back on and everyone is chapping and cheering, but they still look overweight to me! Maybe better than they were, but sometimes marginally so. They just have a mini-makeover with better clothes, makeup and new hair. From the neck down, the weight is still there.

I'd love to see a LC diet expert give advice on his show!

I used to crack up because Oprah always had Dr. Bob Greene on as her diet expert, but Oprah never seemed to succeed with his advice!

The man is a quack. I saw a special where he put people in a zoo and made them eat like gorillas. They had to eat over 10 lbs of food a day! Gorillas evolved to eat massive amounts of fiber-filled foods. They graze ALL DAY. Humans evolved to eat meat. That is why our intestines are MUCH shorter than a gorillas.

If you want to look like a gorilla, eat like a gorilla. I don't know about you but I am trying to NOT be pot-bellied and hairy :P

Found a link....
http://www.bbc.co.uk/mediaselector/...ize=16x9&bbwm=1

Of course, they do not mention that any short term health benefits are from NO SUGAR AND GRAINS. NOT from trying to be a gorilla :P

Now compare these people to people in the lion cage and only have them eat meat...LOL

Uh, I don't think that one would get funding. You know, like food research. They will not test "steak and eggs" against anything because they know damn well it would lose. They will only test cheerios against froot loops, or "bacon and twinkies" against cheerios, or industrial byproduct killer fats against cheerios (which is then blamed on meat being bad for you).

LOL

No kidding.

Talk about stacking the deck.

"We fed 1000 people 20lbs of sugar every day for a year along with 1 tbsp of lard. The lard killed them."

Or, "We fed 1000 people a pound of lard every day for a year along with one apple and they got healthier. The apple saved them."

I'm thinking specifically of this study -
http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC2527479/

Money quote:
A bacon-based diet appears to protect against carcinogenesis, perhaps because bacon contains 5% NaCl and increased the rats’ water intake.
