Cool Beef Rouladen

Hi!!

Did this last night & it was GREAT!!!

I was on the look-out for an inexpensive, yet classy meal, as my in-laws were coming for dinner.
I had to feed 5 adults, a teenager & 3 children.

Found some cuts of Beef Top Round cut Rouladen at the grocery - very reasonably priced:
$2.64 a pound.

Rouladen is a dish made of thin slice of beef, usually spread with a mustard base and other misc. spice & vege. & rolled up!

I had 4# of steak & I homemade a(low-carb friendly) cream cheese & butter filling for mine!

Cheryl's Cream Cheese-stuffed Beef Rouladen

Oven to 350F

4# Beef cut Rouladen

1 package soften cream cheese
1/2 cup(1 stick) of softened(not melted) butter
2 tbsp Italian Seasoning
1 tsp onion powder
1 tsp garlic powder

*OPTION:
2 medium Onions(coarsely chopped)

Softened cream cheese, butter & spices in a bowl, mix together well

Lay rouladen steak out flat & 'Paint'/spread filling evenly over the steak.
Start on skinny end of steak & roll them up

Sear them on the grill, or in a cast iron pan & place in a oblong casserole dish.
When all are done searing, fill dish with 1/2 inch of water & cover(lid or aluminum foil)

*(I fried some coarse chopped onions on the griddle when the rouladen was done being seared & topped the beef before covering)

Place in 350F oven for 1 hour
When done, remove & uncover

Serve & Enjoy!!
