Default Seven Terrible Ideas for Breakfast

All of these are vaguely nauseating, though I think the "liquid cereal" they mention first is the worst of the lot. And we wonder why so many of us are ill and fat.

The only times I ever absolutely insisted my DS ate a decent breakfast were on standardized test days -- you know, the "let's make the kids do three hours of tests before lunch" days. And on those days, it was scrambled eggs and sausage or something with a lot of protein to last him until lunch.

He just didn't feel like eating in the morning. He's now 19 and he survived.

Most breakfasts are awful. Go out to any restaurant and try to find something that's not piled with pancakes, hashbrowns and/or bread. When we go to breakfast, it's usually Cracker Barrel (wow, a LC menu!) or Golden Corral (a buffet, where I can skip all those carby things).

Well, you certainly can't beat a proper home cooked breakfast but I've yet to find a restaurant that won't give me bacon & eggs, hold the hash-browns, hold the toast, substitute with a few slices of grilled tomatoes please!

There is no reason to have to eat some special food for breakfast. Pork chops makes for a good breakfast.

Everyone eats a breakfast. No matter what time of day the first meal is eaten, it is a breakfast as it breaks the overnight fast.

Yes indeedy, breakfast is the most important meal of the day - especially when it's the only meal of the day! I eat mine at around 6PM.

I had leftover chicken breast for breakfast today, it had been coated with parmasean cheese and spices. Yummy, and will hold me well past lunch.

Thanks for the grilled tomato idea. I usually ask for fruit, but usually end up with grapes & pineapple, which are just too carby for me.

The article highlighted the carby Bob Evans frozen breakfast, but they also have an omelet and sausage one that is low carb. It's not as good as one you've made yourself, but it's good for a fast food option.

My seven terrible ideas for breakfast (note, any of these qualifies as a perfect breakfast at any restaurant): Pancakes, french toast, hashbrowns, toast, grits, oatmeal, or biscuits and gravy.

Seven great ideas for breakfast: bacon, ham, sausage, eggs, omelettes with real eggs, steak or hamburger patties.
