Default Hi Nicky!

The Gold Coast Atkins Army grows!

Vitamin wise, I am in the minority. I take none, feel incredible not tired etc. I was a little worried at the start, but my doctor didn't put me on any so I am trusting his understanding of my body. I very much feel that all WOE's are very much different for each individual.

Lo-Carb products on the Coast:
Ummm. Sorry to disappoint ..but.... not really that many. There is locarb bread at Mrs Flannerly's at Harbour Town (100 Brisbane Rd - I think that is in HT - but I always forget when I go).

I have done this whole thing without a single locarb product other than the carb modified soy chocolate (Sweet Williams) and that still has quite a few carbs but is nice every now and then.

I live on:
Chicken Breast cooked in Lemon Peri Peri sauce (Nando's product avail at woolies)
Lamb Chops
Steak in creamy garlic and mushroom sauce
Salads with marinated chicken, roast beef or prawns.
Rye Crispbreads with avacado (very much in moderation)
Brazil nuts
Italian sausages
Egg plant
Sandwhich Tuna in vege oil - amazing snack for me!
Bacon
Eggs
Salmon Pate
Beef and vege stir fry (sin sin stir fry sauce at woolies)
Thai red curry
Homemade icecream

The only meal of the day I am not eating veges or salads is breakfast, though I will frequently eat a spoon or two of avacado while I am waiting for brekky to cook.

Elle made soy pancakes last night from the Atkins book and I seem to remember she said they were yummy. I think I should investigate the purcahse of soy flour!

PS. I eat out a lot. I tend to eat Sashimi and Miso, French Onion Soup and Salad, or something like veal if I am eating italian.

Whew, I feel much better!
Those numbers are MUCH better.

I think you need a calculator (there's one on every computer - try looking in "Accessories.").
Your goal is fine - realistic and healthy etc.
But your current weight of 77kg is not 192lbs ( 'scuse my giggle), it's only 169.4! Yay!

Okay, to change your stats, go to "profile" at the top of the page and hit "edit options," the scroll down and change whatever you please.

While I've got your attention, Nicky, how about starting a journal here.
Either start from the front page or use "forum jump" at the bottom (abd I think top) of the page. Just scroll down till you come to "Journal M to Q" and you can record your food if you wish etc. There's an announcement at the top of each journal page which gives you hints.
The best thing about a journal is that great people pop in to give you hints and help. Plus it's a really good way to make new friends.
Lots for you to think about.

All the best, Nicky.

Rosebud

I make my own - this is for one.
This isn't an induction food fyi... but here is my recipe.
Brown a handful of beef strips
One tsp of Thai Choice Red Curry Paste (woolies) (4.29g per 2 tbsp - so for a teaspoon you are looking at 1gish or less)
Half can of lite coconut milk (can't remember the carbs but it isn't that low but low enough - don't have a tin still here - make sure you get the ones unsweetened!)
To this I add cauliflower, zuchinni, brocolli, eggplant, carrot, whatever else I have lying around.

Super yummy!

Sugar Free Fruit Chews! (YUMMMMMMMMMMY less than 0.2g carbs per piece)

and wait for it....

ZERO CARB MILK CHOCOLATE!

Seriously...everyone head to Darrell Lea !!

And each pack was only $2.50 AUS each!!

Hi Nicky,

just re your question about alcohol (I like a little too here and there, but I live in Airlie Beach, so I can't easily avoid it ),
you can get diet tonic in litle bottles, so you can have gin and diet tonic, and I like rum and diet Coke too.

I should say here though that I'm not a big fan of aspartame, and both these diet drinks have it, otherwise I think those combos are fairly safe carb wise (correct me if I'm wrong guys). Oh and you can get diet lime cordial for your vodka lime and soda.

I think it's best avoid alcohol on induction though.

Hope this helps.

Cheers,
Zebidee.

Hey guys!

Im also from the Gold Coast! Have you ever thought of bulk ordering online and then sharing the delivery costs? Im sure there are more people out there from the Gold Coast/Brisbane region and then we could all find out whats good or not! There are some great sites like low carb luxuary who test and recommend products too. Whadaya think?
