Love to chop 1/2 a pound of bacon, saute it until crisp and remove to drain. Trim bottom ends and outer leaves off the brussels sprouts and halve them. Place cut side down in reserved bacon fat and add about 1/4 cup chicken broth. Cover and steam for about 5 mins, then uncover and allow broth to evaporate and bottom of sprouts to brown. Flip the sprouts to brown the other side, add garlic or red chili flakes if desired and serve topped with bacon pieces.
