I got some good news today! I'm going back to work. I've been off for the last 9 years, so this will be somewhat of a change. I know I'm going to have to start doing things differently and be better planned. Meal times will be a challenge with my new job also as meetings will be occurring at noon ( and I'm the one that has to lead them). That will throw me off some, but I'm sure I'll work it out someway.

Best of luck to you with that. When do you start? Hopefully if you're not starting right away, you'll have time to figure out a plan for meals, etc.

Very exciting Char!!

Better planning is the key so you already know that and will do what you need to do. One thing that I do to save time is pre cook food that I can reheat quickly for quick meals. Chili and cacciatores are great for this as they freeze well and taste better when reheated.

You are going to do just fine!!

Thank you Judy--I will keep those comments to myself.

Char--that is good news about the new job. That sounds exciting is that going to be for you as you lose the weight and as others see the change in you. What type of job will you be doing?

Judy--thank you again for letting me know about putting that on here. Like I stated I do not to offend anyone.

Today is Tuesday and it's suppose to be cool. There is a lot of flooding in this area. I hope that if any of you are in the hurricane area you are okay and if you have been in the rainy area I hope that all is okay. Our crawl space has flooded and we have been using the sump pump to empty it. There are many roads closed around my area. At least my well is getting refilled.

Have a wonderful day. Make the most out of it you can. Enjoy it to the fullest that you can. Try to smile at someone and brighten up their day. Laugh as much as you can for it is healthy.

WTG JMR!! That's awesome! I hope to join you in Onederland in the not TOO distant future. (some time within the next year maybe)

Oooh, that's what I have to do. Set some mini-goals, with some kind of reward for reaching each one. Gotta think about those a little bit.

Busy day ahead for me fellow Beachers! I'm off to the dentist this morning, just for a cleaning though, so nothing drastic. Then puppy must go to the vet for her shots. That's always an ordeal, but DD2 is coming with me hopefully! I'll take the big one to get weighed while I'm there too. She's been on a doggie diet and I think she's doing good, but we'll see. Last time we were there, she had lost 4 pounds, so that's good! Then I need to swing by Walmart and pick up some stuff.

Donna- I will be starting officially on October 15th, but have some training sessions, orientations etc before then!

Judy- It's not so much the suppers I'm worried about as DD1 still does most of the cooking at that time. It's the lunches! I will have to adjust the time that I eat at and perhaps bring along a lunch to eat. I'm just not used to doing that. It's been a long time for me! I guess my morning time that I spend surfing the forum will be spent making lunch instead!

Oldasamule- I have taken a job as a University Facilitator, supervising student teachers when they go out for their field experience. The thing that I like about it is that the times are very flexible and you basically work around your own schedule. It's good for me because I have an 8 year old daughter and I like to be there for her before and after school and also I like to be able to have time to do things at school with her like field trips, celebrations etc.

I would like to join this group as I began SB yesterday. I've done Atkins and high fat for a long while and just burned out. last week I was sick trying to stomach eggs for breakfast. I can do many aspects of lc but find myself longing for healthy foods like oatmeal and fruit. I do tend to binge into truly bad stuff-sweets, candy, cookies, etc but I want to try this and see if I can middle road it. I would reasonably like to lose at least 8 more lbs. but would love to lose 13. I have the older SB book and have been reading it and also printed out Judy's newer updates on another thread. I know I will have questions and appreciate beforehand your help. Also, I'm bringing (dragging really) my DH on this trip. When he came in for lunch yesterday I informed him of the decision-he is agreeable as long as I feed him well. Thanks, Anne

Welcome Anne! My whole family eats the SB way and they don't even know it. It's very condusive to family eating and I never need to cook anything "extra". I'm sure your DH will love it!

Hi Anne!
Welcome!
The best advice I can offer you at this time is simply to begin SB with phase I.....not phase II yet! It really is best to raise your carb level slowly when switching over from Atkins and starting with phase I will do this for you.

Also, following the meal plan chart and food lists on the 1st page of my journal, will show you exactly how to do it.

Obviously, I love eating this way...I hope you and your DH will too!!

Thanks Judy and Char, I am starting P1 b/c I saw you advise others to do so. The only hard part yesterday was figuring in 1 T of evoo per meal-after pouring on with regular lc. I realize how much I use for veggies and salads. I did mistakening use 1 T evoo and 1/4 avocado in my salad at lunch but was careful with dinner. Thanks for the suggestion. Is this the place for q & a's? Anne

This is fine for questions.
Don't worry too much about eating some avocado with evoo in measured amounts. I do it all the time. Its adding in too much fat in general, that is an issue.

Last night, my salad had evoo in its dressing, 1/4 avocado and a few black olives.... I like my fats too!!
