Good morning all! It looks like it will be a better day here in Nebraska today! I'm a teacher (actually a library media specialist) and I've had parent teacher conferences the last 2 nights. In compensation, we get Friday off and I am planning to go shopping!! Woo -hoo. All my pants are just hanging off of me right now, so I need some duds. I look like poopy pants everyday! Ha ha.

Any of you seen the movie Religulous yet? Any other movies? Hubby and I have a date night Saturday and we thought we might go see one. We generally don't like to do movies on date night because we don't actually get to talk, but the sitter's coming early, 4:30, so we will have time to make it to an early movie then have some dinner somewhere.

Oh, which makes for another difficult night though. If you think eating low carb is difficult at a restaurant - imagine eating NO carb/meat only. Goodness. "May I please have the fattiest ribeye steak you have in the back? Oh, and chicken wings with no sauce would be a great appetizer. Sides? No thanks, just the meat. Oh, and I huge side of butter would be great!" Imagine the looks I get! Ha ha! Anyways, I usually end up ordering a double side of veggies and taking them home to my kids. My husband is easily embarrassed, and I am not, so you can imagine how well this goes over.

Well, have a great day all. I'm up early working on my kids scrapbooks because I can't hit the gym today. I am on rest days because I have a huge race on Saturday that my body has to be ready for!

Later...

I'm taking my son to AMERICAN CAROL this weekend, as a reward for getting straight A's.

I haven't even heard of "Religulous". Last movies I saw were: Mama Mia (loved it) and Nights in Rodanthe (ok, but someone should have warned me to take tissues).
I'm having the family for early Thanksgiving lunch this Sat., since Mom will be leaving for TX soon. My friend is going to do smoked turkey breast for it. Other than that, it won't be very LC. Mashed pots & gravy, stuffing, cornbread casserole, oriental salad & probably a jello fruit salad. - Which reminds me, I was gonna' call Mom this noon. Gotta' run...

If you are a conservative, you probably won't want to see Religulous, trust me. I'm getting that it's similar to the Borat movie that came out except the interviews are about people and their religion. The people who were interviewed are upset - of course - because they all sound pretty stupid on camera I guess - even though they all signed waivers agreeing to be in the movie. I'm looking forward to a good laugh!

Okay, I hate to be nosey, but ScottyP, do you REALLY have a goal weight of 100? And you're male? Are you over 5 foot tall?

How is everyone else doing with their WOE? Making progress?

GRRRRR - how am I doing with my WOE? NOT GOOD!
Having a little bout with depression again, so got home from work at 4 yesterday, ate, watched t.v, ate some more, and some more, and some more and never got around to doing anything. Partially because I want to work on my drapes, and don't know exactly how to get them how I want them, so was procrastinating. Also saw on the news about a laser surgery for people who work out and still can't get the sculpted look they want - that was depressing too.
SO - anyone going to the game this weekend? I sold my tickets. Don't know what my weekend plans are just yet.

OH man, that is exactly what I used to do! Eat to avoid doing what I needed to REALLY be doing. I finally figured out what I was doing and replaced eating with reading. I know that sounds a little strange, but I LOVE to read, so I decided to give myself permission to go up to my room and read ANYTIME I feel unmotivated or I don't want to do what I really SHOULD be doing. That was like an uh-huh moment for me because reading is one of those guilty pleasures for me. I don't feel like I should be sitting around wasting time doing it if there's other things that need done. Well, I finally admitted that there are ALWAYS other things that need done. Now, I let myself read until I feel motivated to move on to something else. Amazing, but it actually does happen - I end up moving on eventually.

What's your guilty pleasure (besides eating!!)? What kind of drapes are you putting together?

I will finally get to watch the game this weekend. Last weekend I had a race (that lasted 7 hours!!!) and had to miss it. This week my son has football at 9 and my daughter has soccer at 10, so we'll be home in time for the game. Then, we have a Halloween party at 4:30. A nice little hole in the middle of the day to watch the game! Yippeee.

a big YES to that HC!
Actually, it's just a swag type valance I'm trying to create. Kind of a long story - way last Oct. I took my greyish/blue drapes down to tumble in the dryer for cleaning/freshening. While putting the hooks back in I poked my finger and it bled onto the drapes. (At the time I didn't know that peroxide takes blood out) so even though the drapes are dry-clean only I soaked the blood stain in water - and ended up with a big ol' water spot. SO, (they are really old drapes, so I had thought of just getting new ones, but I hope to change colors soon, so hate to do that just yet) so I bought some blue dye, filled the bath tub with hot water and drapes, including the balloon valance that had been up there. Well, the color came out really, really good, but the length of the drapes was up a few inches, so I used the valance to have fabric to add to the bottom of the drapes. Then I found sheer drapes, in a slightly darker, from very complimentary color, for real cheap $ and ordered them. I'm trying to "swag" that across the top. But the sheer fabric just slips and slides all around and isn't heavy enough to really do what I want, plus it's a really long expanse so it about takes 2 or 3 people to hold it up there and work with.
Tonight I have a haircut, but if it's not raining too hard Thurs. night I will see if my good friend can come over and help me with it.
CB - I do the same thing with reading - but I nibble while I read. Maybe I should go to the library and sit there and read, so the fridge wouldn't be so handy. In fact I started a book last night, but got a little ways into it and remembered that I already read it.
