Of course. It is no accident that Dr. Bernstein was an engineer before he went to med school in his 40s.

Geeks like things that can be measured and tinkered with. I have a background in debugging poorly documented large systems. The human body is the ultimate poorly documented large system.

The tragedy is that most of the people doing medical research appear NOT to have any of the characteristics that make a successful engineer. If they did they wouldn't come up with the poorly controlled statistically insignificant studies that prove only that they were asleep during the single statistics class doctors are required to take.

I wonder if Dr. Bernstein realizes that the people who are attracted to his system are the ones who will likely tinker with it and change it to suit them?
