Could you find a source for it? I've googled around in the past because I was curious, I never found anything credible citing his cause of death. Let me know if you do have something to support that belief.

It's all in the the thread. Basically though, if it's from an animal - eat away.. but go easy on the carby stuff, like liver; plants are for spice and medicine.

theres 2 reasons one is i live in a society where im surrounded by grains, sugar, junk foods, beer, etc, etc... which makes paleo hard and the other diets....

Yeah, society makes it very hard. No matter what anybody says, it ain't easy being social and doing "paleo" let alone "carnivore". People will bitch, whine, push and ridicule your WOE to the point of hostility sometimes.

2 is i still think im slightly addicted to carbs (honey, fruit, etc)

It really does pass, but hey, I admire your candor and the admission is the first step.

another reason im afraid of doing all carnivour b/c i dont do well with raw meats... that means my diet would be near 100% cooked.... also i dont do with organ meats

i love steamed ground meat. thats my favorite

are egg yolks included in this and oils like coconut oil olive?

I use coconut oil now and again; it's at least a saturated fat. I like butter too, it's not paleo, but it's essentially just animal fat. Many "carnivores" seem to consider cheese, cream, etc. fine as well - so you can incorporate it with your fondness for raw dairy, as long as it's mostly fat and not too carby (like milk). Eggs are from animals, and are a great food source. My main food is blue rare steak, a nice thick cut, seared slightly on the outside and raw on the inside. Maybe if you try it that way, you'll find it more agreeable. I think the less meat is cooked, the better - but you have to work with what agrees with you.

I really should start logging/calculating that, just so I know. Today I had two nice steaks, probably about 2 pounds all told and I just had 4 eggs fried in butter. I guess it would be around 200+ grams of protein and probably about 170+ grams of fat.

Do cashews have gluten in them? I get stomach aches from wheat and oats etc which I put down to gluten, and since going off those grains I've been eating nuts and cashews seem to do the same thing.

No, nuts don't have gluten. But lots of people are intolerant to nuts too, I seem to be.

Actually, some dry-roasted cashews DO have gluten or soy powder and a bunch of chemicals added to them, presumably so they don't feel greasy to the touch or stick together and are more addictive. Thats why I buy all my nuts in the baking supplies part of the store and look for ingredients lists with only one ingredient. Some of the ingredients lists on nuts from the snacks section of the store are quite horrifying - and completely unnecessary, since nuts taste great on their own.

If they do, they should be listed on the label. In the US that's the law.
