Someone added almond flour instead of cream cheese and said it was good. I think 2 Tbl. was the amount. I haven't tried it though.

Wonder what thread that post was in? Wonder if anyone dealt with altering the arrowroot and honey aspects of that recipe, or provided a test run and carb count? You wouldn't happen to have the link to the whole thread, wouldya?

Sure, here:

http://forum.lowcarber.org/showthread.php?t=266493

I'd like to learn how to link to a post within a thread so that the rest of thread shows surrounding the intended post. I know it can be done, I've just never figured it out.

Dutch Baby

One double sized oopsie, flattened out more than usual
Powdered erythritol
butter
lemon juice
Heat in microwave 30 seconds.

I didn't have any powdered erythritol, so I put a tsp of the granulated in my coffee grinder. Didn't like the result as it was still very gritty. Don't know if bought powdered is better.

Next time, I'll try baking that one double oopsie in a pie plate with about a tbls. of butter & just use splenda & lemon juice & more butter right out of the oven.

I made crepes today. I added a couple of teaspoons of water to loosen the mixture and pressed down firmly on the lid after closing it. It started to squeal when I did this (bit like cooking a potato in the microwave without piercing it first) but I just ignored it. They were cooked in under 20 seconds. I also added in a couple of teaspoons of sesame seed meal (in lieu of all almond meal) just because I could - and to see if it made any difference to the taste and texture. Once again I was thrilled with the result:

I'm going to make some low-carb Nutella later to spread on them.......

Me and my friend made an Oopsie Pizza yesterday. Wasn't perfect (quite spongy and eggy in the middle) but it did the trick for me:-

I've found a way to do it but it takes a bit of tweaking and doesn't take you right to the post, but definitely to the page it is on (and this thread has 15 or so pages, by default posts-per-page setting, so that helps).

You need to get the thread id # (right from the address bar) and also the post number (upper right, float your mouse over the "#nnn") and then type/edit to glue the two together, for example:

Code:
http://forum.lowcarber.org/showthread.php?t=266493&postcount=239

Note the thread idea is the t=nnnnnn part and is joined by the ampersand to the relevant post with postcount=nnn part...

I'm almost positive, like you, I used to get the whole thing with selecting the link (right click, ctrl-C) from the postcount, but that may well have been another forum. Strong possibility perhaps that each forum can have those linking options set differently.

Fun, eh?

ps: I did have a cruise through the Technical Help subforum and the FAQ there, but no joy...

pps:
~~later: ooof! post 239 is on the '1st page' (I sort by most recent first) so I need to go back and test this some more...
~~even later: well, I'm a dufus. That method above only takes you to (your) first page of the given thread...and no error message.

You can, however, provide a link to a given page, and most folks default to oldest posts first, so the link will work for just about everybody, like this:
http://forum.lowcarber.org/showthre...=266493&page=10
...in this protocol, you identify the thread with the t=nnnnnn , conjoin with the ampersand and identify the page with the page=nn ... OR:
http://forum.lowcarber.org/showthre...3&page=10&pp=15
...all the same but you are specifying how many posts per page with the conjoining using the ampersand the pp=nn (total posts divided by posts per page, a user-set number, gives so many pages, kind of like rangefinding at the gun range!

Hey, cool! that means that if you set 1 post per page and you know the thread and post numbers (yup, can do), you can do this
(for latest first display order, post 239 out of 249):
Code:
http://forum.lowcarber.org/showthread.php?t=266493&page=11&pp=1

or this (for oldest first display order, the way almost everyone has it set, post 239 out of 249):
Code:
http://forum.lowcarber.org/showthread.php?t=266493&page=239&pp=1

You can do it without the page numbers:

Code:
http://forum.lowcarber.org/showthread.php?p=7304671#post7340671

I mouse over the post number link to see the number in the location bar (bottom of the browser window).

Here's what it does. I picked a post in another thread at random.

I'm going to ask the webmaster if he can put the 'permalink' option next to those post number links. I've seen that on another forum, but I don't remember if it was vBulletin.

Now isn't that interesting...I was just about to have a spaz because of course I wasn't getting the permalink thing, just the original post-with-no-thread we were talking about originally. I'm floating the mouse and watch the bottom status bar VERY closely (instead of watching the mouse indicator) and notice that you actually get the post within the thread if you hover ONLY over the # part of the #nnn post number and the post without the thread if you hover ONLY over the nnn part of the the #nnn post number. I'll be darned and hornswoggled.

Wow, you put a lot of thought into that Jude. I've been meaning to do the same for years. Thank you. The mouseover change (depending on which character you're on) is downright bizarre -- I wonder why they built so much complexity into it. Useful, though.

Thanks for pointing out the mouseover, Kristine. I should remember to look for that sort of thing more often.

Sorry, I should have pointed you in the direction of this thread, which I started after this discussion.

Nah, no worries. I'm quite happy to have tripped over it on my own after you went to bat for the change. It DOES explain how I "missed" it!

Thanks, Kristine!
