I liked the response to the mini-goal thread...how about celebrating what we have already acheived?

Name one thing you can do, you have, or you are proud of that was impossible before you lost whatever weight you have already lost.

I'm glad I can go through those little turnstiles in most stores without feeling like the world's greatest contortionist I may have to twist to one side or the other....but I can get through them

I can fit into my old wardrobe!

I've kept all my clothes over the last four years. As I kept gaining weight I would buy as few clothes as I could get by with, and think I really looked terrible most of the time, especially this last year. Now that I've dropped some substantial inches, I have a whole closet full of nice looking clothes to select from. I have clothes ranging from size 44" waist down to 36" waist (when I stopped doing Atkins last time), so I shouldn't have to buy anything for another year or so - unless I decide to treat myself.

Fit into my engagement and wedding bands again. Actually, they are starting to get a little bigger now and spin around on my finger. I had them resized once, and grew out of them again and couldnt bare to stretch them out again. But now I am wearing them and happy.

Heres something I am proud I DONT have to do... and thats take asthma medication any more!

I can lower my tray table when I fly on an airline! Sure, fitting into a standard plane seat belt was nice, but when I could put down the tray without a) the edge resting my belly so I couldn't make the top horizontal or b) the edge digging into my stomach if I dared to try to force the matter, I was so excited.

one thing?

Oh, that's hard.. I've ticked off quite a few.

Biggest thing, though, is hearing that I've almost completely reversed my heart disease.
Now THAT'S a milestone.

I absolutely LOVE shopping in regular sized stores now because there were so few plus sized stores here in town, but there was one huge milestone for me that really stood out.

I can cross my legs, all the way cross my legs. Heck, I can even wrap my one leg practically around my other one now!! I can even sit indian style now. There have been plenty of milestones on my journey and I don't know why that was just so big for me, but it was.

I can comfortably sleep flat on my back again. I can also lay on my back and read in bed. I am just starting to be able to comfortably cross my legs. Also walking instead of "lumbering" along and not being short of breath when walking moderate distances. No aches or pains when I get out of bed in the morning. It's just all good. And I expect it will get better as I lose more .

OOOOH...fitting in restaurant booths! That's a good one Chris. It's so nice to sit comfortably without my tummy touching the table or worse...having the waitress size me up to see if I'd even FIT in a booth.

or spilling out the side of chairs...

my kingdom for a tub chair ...

well, now I fit, but I still hesitate before sitting anywhere...

I've carted enough plastic lawn chairs stuck to my butt enough times for anyone's laugh track.
