GG, do you test on each side of your fingers, and use all ten? Sounds like a silly question, but I'll ask, just in case

Of course not.. Seriously, I don't.

I try to test on my right hand on one side but I can't push enough blood out. Sometimes I get an error message on my meter there is so little blood on my right hand.

I didn't know to use both sides, really.

Well, consider using all ten fingers, both sides of each. Saves on them a bit, soreness wise, ya know.

If you have trouble getting the blood out, before pricking the finger, let your arm hang down at your side a moment, the blood will pool a bit in your hands. And squeeze your finger!

We all have needed to, I think None of this comes easy, or naturally, it's a fight. But if we stick together, and help one another, then maybe we'll make it.

I use one hand one month, the other the next. If I haven't done a lot of testing I just rotate through the four fingers and thumb, if I am doing more testing I rotate sides of fingers from day to day. I have found that holding hand down by my side, close to the floor, gets me a sample on the first try. Usually.

I've thought about trading in my Freestyle for the more economical Walmart tester, but I really like being able to do forearm testing. I find finger testing to be very painful, and I doubt I'd test nearly as much.

Saw in my last package of hypodermics a coupon that said RelyOn meters now can be used on forearms, and they are down loadable.

My drug plan just switched from Freestyle to AccuChek Aviva.

I now have a new BG tester.

The Accuchek works in many places, not just the fingers.

I have used it several times now and I find it is better than Freestyle meters.

It takes in the blood on the test stick quickly and needs a whole lot less for a sample.

Very happy with it.

Ralph

I use the Aviva too, Ralph, I've always been very pleased with it, and Bernstein recommends them, as well.
