Default Simple pork chops

Original recipe at http://allrecipes.com/Recipe/Brown-...ops/Detail.aspx

Brown Sugar Pork Chops

6 pork chops

6 tablespoons Brown Sugar (I used Debisweet brown sugar, a mix of isomalt and acesulfame potassium)

6 Tablespoons Butter

1 tbsp soy sauce

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

Place the chops in a 9x13 baking dish. Put a tablespoon of the brown sugar on each chop, then a tablespoon of butter on top of the brown sugar. Sprinkle the soy sauce all around.

Cover the dish in foil and cook for 45 minutes. Remove the foil and cook 15 minutes more or until browned.

This came out as a really sweet, and nice dish that the kids are loving. It was also really simple and could be done in a few minutes with no marinade time.

Yes, the original recipe called for 6 tbsp brown sugar.

The reason I went with debisweet is here the choices pretty much are that, sugar twin brown which is saccharine, and then splenda brown sugar blend that is 50% real sugar.

Normally I use the sugar twin, but it doesn't caramelize at all like brown sugar would, whereas sugar alcohols do have that property. That and I just wanted to try the debisweet since it was at the pharmacy when I was standing around waiting for a prescription.
