As a follower of South Beach, you don't count carbs. But, when I've logged my food (Fitday, etc), I generally average 150 g plus carbs a day.

Just posted something about this on another part of this sub-forum - I find it difficult to handle life on less than 60 carbs per day. It's just not possible for me since I also cook for my family and I'm fairly active (walking, housework, Curves). My body needs more. The good part is that my body doesn't care where it gets its carbs but I do eat more veggies, nuts, oatmeal and brown rice products (some pasta, if only to feel "normal" since I'm allergic to wheat). I've hit a serious plateau for a while, bouncing around a bit for the past year and a half so I've decided to journal my food at every meal and really count up those carbs in relation to my activity level, then make adjustments. Sometimes, it's good to do that to insure you aren't overdoing it.
