Thank you for your words of encouragement Akasha. I was feeling a bit bummed when I weighed in this morning because I was hoping to drop another 4lbs but lost 2.5lbs instead. Its still a lost and not bad for losing 10.5 lbs in 3 weeks. I havent even worked out yet. I wanted to drop some extra weight before I start hitting the gym. I finally decided that I am going to incorporate a cardio workout for the next two weeks, then add cardio + free weight training in week 6.

I like to thank every member in this challenge. It sure has keep me motivated to eat right and visualize my costume for Halloween (LOL).

2.5lbs loss is GREAT! way better than gaining 1lb

My headaches already started and it's only the 2nd day.
Any advice as to what I can eat or do to make them go away.
Its a temple banging pulsating headache and it HURTS!

Sometimes it is better to know the truth than live in denial. When my weight started creeping up a year ago, I refused to weigh myself. My pants kept getting tighter and soon they wouldn't even fit. When I finally jumped on the scale and saw that I had gained 25 pounds, it was a total wake-up call and forced me to get my butt back on track!

Welcome to the challenge! I think we all slack off that time of year because of the holiday season. Crazy times! Good luck with Induction. I have finally moved up the carb ladder a bit from Induction (because I've been on a rigorous exercise regime) but I'd consider myself an Induction pro so if you need any help or encouragement, please stop by my journal. That's great that you are trying to get your hubby to go on Atkins. It's always beneficial to have a diet partner.

I bet you will see even bigger results once you hit the gym! Sounds like a good plan- I just started adding weights to my workout, and I've already seen results.

And I am totally visualizing my Halloween costume, too! I either want to be a sexy tiger or an Egyptian goddess.

Yikes, I get those sometimes; usually due to not eating enough or not getting enough fluids. They are really painful. Hope they go away. In the meantime, maybe take some painkillers?

My favourite Halloween costume of all time (that was mine, anyway) was the year I dressed up as Elvira. I felt like I could rule the world that night (or at least the men in it! )

I'm not 21 anymore, but it would still be fun to try feeling like that again!

Just starting today, LOL.. I like having to own up to things like this, challenges. I was actually thinking about Halloween earlier this week and wondering if I could wear something sexy for any party I might get invited to or something, so its weird that I also found this thread.
I have a mini goal of reaching 170-180 before leaving for the beach on July 7.
After that I have a long-term goal of reaching 145-150 for maintaining.

Aka- you might have hit the nail on the head- went over my eating notebook- I forget I eat 5 minutes later and only drank 1 water the whole day- and not a big bottle.
and today had coffee before I read your post.
I forget- can you have asparagus on induction? Bought some today for getting about the carb intake.

Welcome to the challenge! Haha, I also am going to a beach (Well, a house-boat on the river. Close enough) in early July (I leave the 9th for a week) that I am trying to get in shape for. It's certainly a big motivator!

Yes you can! Isn't asparagus WONDERFUL? We have some left in the garden (but the stupid frost killed half of it off the other night!) and I've been steaming some almost every night for the past week! Yummmmm.

OMG, this challenge is going to be fun!!!! OK, I am seriously going to try the meat & egg fast this weekend. I have never done this before, but it sounds like it might be a good idea for me. I need to slide back down into the 200's and I'm 13 lbs away. I always loved dressing up for Halloween as a kid and a young person. I'm only 38 but I feel like I'm 100 years old - I need to have a super Halloween this year and every year after!! Last year I went through a haunted house in our area, and there was a very narrow section, that I really wasn't sure I would fit through. I need to go back this year and go through there with EASE!!! GO TEAM, HALLOWEEN!!!!!

Its been a good day so far..
Induction day #3- I didnt wake up wanting to knaw my arm off..lol and breakfast kept me full for three hours today

I have 6 carbs availalbe for dinner still...what to have..hmm

but so far
cal-1189

fat-63%
protien-34%
carbs-3%
(so far 10 /20 allowed carbs from veggies)

I've has so much water today me and the potty have become friends.. hahahha

I am thinking of getting on the treadmill..too much later I'll never get to sleep tonight though..

well off to hard boil more eggs fro snacks tomorrow and figure out dinner..

I find I need to watch the calories. I also found that as my appetite and cravings came under control, the calories just seemed to naturally decline too, without much effort or 'pointedness' on my part.

I use Fitday.com to track what I'm eating, it analyzes and sorts everything out for me.
