Default Sunshine Moments

I'm brand new to the LC WOL, having only been on Atkins 3 days now.

Since I've only been on 3 days, I don't have many sunshine moments (yet). I do have something to share, though.

I'm keeping a food journal, and I keep track of all the carbs I eat all day (as I go). The next morning, I make certain I've tallied up my carbs, and if I stayed under 20, I get a star...and a different color for every successive day. Both Friday and Saturday got stars, and Sunday is well on its way to getting a star.

It's a silly thing, but this little reward helps encourage me until I can start actually seeing my progress in my body.

I'll get weighed again tomorrow and see if I can update my profile!

Congratulations to all of you, for your weight loss and for your loving attitudes towards everyone here. It's encouraging to know I'm not alone.

Way to go Dee!

My sunshine moment was yesterday, I saw my friend Justin who I haven't seen in months and he noticed that I lost weight!

Hehe, this string is getting a little provocative. But, at the heart of it is a bunch of wonderful people bettering their lives!
So lets keep those pants falling!

That or buy some new clothes.

LOL

*hugs*

Talking My first sunshine moment!

Hi Dee and everyone!

My first sunshine moment post

Today, my pants actually fit okay - and my belly doesn't feel all bruised from the normal restrictions.

I feel good!

Talking Quite a loser...

A proud loser...

I'm happy again this morning. Weighed in and I'm down 37.5 pounds. In the 2 months since I started Atkins, weekends have always produced nice weight loss. I don't know if it's because I'm more active or what, but it never fails.

This coming weekend my SO will be out of town, so I plan to throw open the closets and check out some of my smaller clothes. I already tried on winter coats this past weekend and I can wear coats that are two sizes smaller without looking like a sausage.

Sunshine moment: My knees hardly hurt at all and I've completely stopped taking pain meds. They say every pound is equal to 10 pounds of pressure on your knees, so I guess I've taken 370 pouns of pressure off my poor knees in the past two months. I'm walking briskly again!

That is good news DW! I bet your knees are very thankful for low carb living! No wonder my feet don't hurt like they used to. I noticed after just losing 20 pounds that my feet didn't hurt anymore. Makes for much more comfortable walking. I find myself walking faster and faster as I get thinner. I still can't keep up with my thin husband, but almost! Victoria

Exclamation They're baaaack...

It's Girl Scout Cookie time in Chicago...
and I just walked past a table stacked full of boxes of GS cookies in the lobby of the building in which I work. Not even slightly tempted was I!

Last year I ate 6 boxes I think. Not all at once, but might as well have been. I recall having a couple boxes in my desl drawer and some at home and goodness knows where else I stashed them.

Were they even good? Heck no. Were the expensive? Yup. Did I know they would make me fatter? Guess so. Did I eat them anyway? Like they were the last cookies I'd ever see.

Anyway, today I walked on by...some else will have to support the Girl Scouts from now on.

Default Girl Scout Cookies

Congratulations, Donald, on passing up the Girl Scout Cookies! See, I'm like you....I don't think they are even GOOD cookies. I can make a much better cookie than that! And, of course, they are WAY over priced!

Mega Congratulations, hjackson, on your six pound weight loss! What a great way to get started!

Cool

Hi All,

My sunshine moment was drinking 130+oz of water today! Whoo Hoo...many a sunshine moment were spent in the restroom at work though....

Good job passing up the Girl Scouts...they are cute though. I must look like a goo cookie candidate. They appeared shocked when I turned them down the other day....I want to say..."Do I look like a need a freakin box of chocolate mints!"...but I refrain and just say..."No thanks".

Started induction today...it went well...no caffeine kind of sucks though......

Have a good one everyone!!!

My sunshine moments for today were:

- Weighing in at under 260 - yay!!!!
- Realising that I have nearly lost 50 pounds, and
- Going to a cafe that I used to frequent on a regular basis and having the lady behind the counter do a double take and say "what have you been doing, you look fabulous" - that put a smile on my face for the rest of the day...

People who see you every day don't necessarily notice the difference.

Default Pasing up Thin Mints

I kinda feel bad saying no to the Girlscouts and there cookies
as I rember how hard I worked as a kid to make our goal
for the Troop.
I just hand them a cash donation instead, this way
they get 100%of the contribution and I dont have
to hear the box of thin mints calling me all day!!

Default Another one bites the dust!

My sunshine moment was I lost another pound! As I am fighting the effects of Prednisone among other meds, I'm afraid there isn't going to be any visit from the "whoosh" fairy at my house, so it feels like every pound is a real battle.

Now, for that NEXT one.....
