All I can think of when I see fancy food like that is that someone's hands have been ALLLLL over it, and i don't know what you're supposed to eat and what's garnish.

Tater...

That dish is not meant to be eaten. There is a thick coat of crazy glue gelatin on top of everything (except the crisp & chives)... It's just meant to look pretty. It took forever to glue the asparagus so that they would sit tepee style... Believe me, it may look too good eat, but you wouldn't want to eat it.

And thanks everyone! Somedays it's important to see your work validated... All of the work that went into those two plates...

So what is everyone doing for the weekend? I'm going to the sugar shack with the kids... Mmmmm... Maple syrup!

I'd have to assume, at some point, you'd want to make food that COULD be eaten? Or is it just for some sort of decoration?

Morning all...

Coffee please sans Bailey's this morning.

We gathered a whole group of people to help out this weekend on my project. We're chugging along on getting it fixed for the client.

True... except that we're doing our own thing which isn't really the norm.

Here is a link to my first project i managed - a rewards program for the new Bayer line:
http://bayer.eprize.net/nutritionalscience

And a sweepstakes - Ladies, enter to win a $1,000 shopping spree!
http://barriepace.eprize.net/shoppingspree

We also do some of those fun game things.... I wish we could use web design software, then I wouldn't have to pester my Software Engineers and Interface Developers.

I'm sure they like being pestered.

Taking the girls to a movie, this afternoon. "Meet the Robinsons." Hopefully this is better than the last few features of animated crap. "Happy Feet" - don't bother. "Cars" - who makes a kid's movie thats THREE hours long???? We did, however, enjoy "Flushed Away."

We just went and watched "Are We Done Yet", the sequel to "Are We There Yet?"

It was cute... once.

Everything on my plate could be eaten... prior to crazy glueing. The only thing that would not have been served exactly as pictured would have been the asparagus tepee... the gelatin was holding it up! As I was preparing stuff, I was tasting and it tasted pretty good. Too bad that it was for a cold competition where everything has to look pretty, and nobody tastes anything....

Coming up May 11, I'm in a hot competition. So it not only has to look good, but taste good too! Wish me luck...

On another note: We were considering to go watch the movie Are we done yet... Ended up going to visit with family. The sugar shack was fun too.

I'm really hoping "sugar shack" means something different there.

Ummm... Maple sugar shack. You know... the place where they make Maple syrup! The ones around here are full out businesses with restaurants and tourism aspects to them.

Mind you, now that I think about it, there was a sign on the sugar shack that said "For rent, 64 beds, kitchen & dining room extra"...
