Default Low Carb & Low Cal Margarita DELICIOUS!

This recipe is by Hungry Girl..

http://www.~~~~~~~~~~~.com/week/wee...ls.php?isid=869

So good that I think I prefer it over the normal. Yummm-o!

With Tequila, it's about 100 cals, 2 carbs. Virgin it's only about 20 cals, 2 carbs.

HG's Magical 100-Calorie Margarita

Ingredients:
6 oz. Sierra Mist Free (or Sprite Zero, or your other fave no-cal lemon-lime soda)
*1 shot of tequila (1.5 oz.)
1 packet **Crystal Light on the Go Lemonade (you may use 1/2 of the packet if you don't want your drink as intensely sweet)
2 tbsp. lime juice from concentrate (or fresh-squeezed lime juice)

Directions:
Mix all ingredients together. Pour over 1 cup of crushed ice. Enjoy.

*You can also make your margarita alcohol-free. This recipe, without tequila, contains just 10 calories (5 calories if you use only half of the Crystal Light packet).

**1 tsp. Crystal Light Lemonade drink mix may be substituted.

Thank you, thank you, THANK you, for this recipe. I thought I'd never enjoy another margarita again...and it's only my favorite kind of drink.

Hey, just tried it. Wanted to let everyone know that Fresca works great with this recipe. Woohoo, tequila! Out of curiosity, does tequila have any carbs?

There's a very good low carb margarita mix made by a company called Baja Bob. They even have a strawberry margarita mix.

I actually like this better than Baja bob's!

Tequila doesnt have carbs, but has 100 calories per oz.

On the original margarita recipe can you put it in a blender with ice? I'm partial to frozen 'Ritas. I was wondering if the carbonation in the sierra mist would blow the lid off the blender. If so I can just pour it over ice cubes, no biggie. Just curious.

Also wondering if this could be made with another adult beverage besides vodka, such as white rum(not the spiced stuff). I usually keep that on hand.Tequila-not so much. I know it wouldn't be a real "rita" w/o tequila but do you think it would still taste good?
