Well, the mutations that make it easier to get more out of the same plot of land were great strides and are still great strides for much of the world.
But once we have more than enough, we start having problems - bulk HFCS wouldn't be so cheap if we didn't grow so much more corn than we need, that kind of thing.
Ethanol is probably a better product. On the other hand, check out what's happening in Mexico due to high corn prices there, that might be related to our ethanol production. I hope we send them lots of corn, sounds like that's preferable to bollilos.
