I think I had a bad food avoidance decathalon this weekend. A Bday party, Tupperware party, and a bridal show with catering vendors there with their samples... I thought of how proud I am of myself and I thought of y'all. There was no way i was eating that. I'm the maid(matron technically) of honor for my best friend of 20 years. She wants me at the cake testing. I was like I'll come but you can't make me taste lol.

Wow. If you can face all that, you can do anything!

Always bring alternative snacks to occasions like that!

Tell your bride friend that when she has lo carb cake to test, you'll be first in line!

I got this in my email from Ivillage and thought I would post it!

10 Tricks for Getting Enough Water
by Lynn Grieger, R.D., C.D., C.D.E.

Summer is not the only time you should be concerned with drinking enough water. It is important to keep the body hydrated all year long. Both hot and cold weather can dehydrate the body, leaving you with dry skin and chapped lips.

Water is the most important nutrient in our diets. It actively participates in chemical reactions; lubricates and cushions joints, eyes and the spinal cord; aids in body-temperature maintenance; and serves as the solvent for many small molecules. You need at least 48 ounces (6 glasses) of fluid to maintain optimum health, more if you exercise. Here are ten tricks for fitting it all in:

1. Take a water bottle to work and make an effort to sip from it continuously throughout the day.

2. Instead of reaching for coffee, squeeze a lemon slice into a mug of hot water for an instant cold-weather warmer.

3. Drink a glass of water before each meal.

4. Keep the refrigerator stocked with bottles of cold water.

5. Use a larger glass at meals. If you normally use an 8-ounce glass, try a 10-ounce.

6. Take a full water bottle on all bike rides or car trips -- even if you're just running to the store.

7. Buy a waist pack that holds a water bottle, and take it with you on walks.

8. Use sports drinks before, during and after any summertime activity.

9. Have at least five servings of fruits and vegetables each day.

10. Make a fruit smoothie for breakfast. Blend fresh fruit, seltzer water and vanilla yogurt for an easy pick-me-up that's also a good source of fluid.

I am still at 250..... So I take this as, I am over the water weight and my body is working on fat!!!! BEGONE fatty deposits!

Do you think my viatmins are stalling me? ( I wouldn't actually CALL it a stall, but this is the first couple of days I haven't lost anything.)I know I am jumping the gun , unfortunately, I am from a long line of gun jumpers.

Other than that I am really happy for myself and others that are plugging along!

No, don't jump the gun. There is a recognized phenomenon that there's a slowdown or stall at several points. Like your body is regrouping for more weight loss. Just keep doing the right things and your weight loss will continue. Resist the urge to cut carbs more, count calories, etc. Relax -- are the clothes getting looser despite the scale not moving? I've really relaxed on the subject of "stalls." I may bob around a certain weight for a week, then have another drop. Not always steady.

Count me in on shooting for 199! I'm going to try to do it by the end of the year. I"m doing South Beach, and I'm not trying to lose fast... I'm trying to view this as a lifestyle approach, so I am enjoying my food (thank god for dark chocolate ) and losing about a pound to two pounds a week. I'm okay with that, as I'd rather lose it and keep it off than push myself with food choices that I can't deal with for the long run. So if a long timeframe is okay, I'm with ya!

I'll be around here rooting for all of you!!
You can do it!!

I hit Onederland last February, this week in fact. I hit 100 lbs lost by July and got to 10 lbs from goal by this last October. I was very focused the whole time...I walk for my work and do walk 4-5 hours each day, 5 days a week.

The only mini goals I set for myself were the next 10 lbs. I did not give myself time goals as I was concerend that if I did not make it, I'd be too disappointed. So I would look at my next 10 lbs as my next mini-goal. ie: each time I'd be at say, 231 lbs. I'd be telling myself "just 2 lbs to get to the 220s". It kept me in it.

I also entered challenges my whole time while losing. I liked having a place to report my weighins each week. You may want to set it up so that you get to weighin officially each week. Its very motivating to me, to know that I had to report my weight each week. We have one now where we report on MOndays as this helps us to stay on plan over the weekends. You are all welcome to join us in this weighin.

Its the "?? How Many Pounds in February Weighin Challenge" in countdowns and challenges.

My very best to all of you on your journey down the scale!!
