My entire body is real sore today & this was the best I could do . I started looking online for information on exercising too much (if there even WAS such a thing) because I was trying to find out if I should be pushing myself (the old adage "no pain - go gain") or resting more between workouts. The problem with resting more is the horrible guilt I feel if I don't exercise so I make myself do something even if it means a crappy workout (like today). The mornings after I've had a day off and the scale hasn't changed I blame it on me & it's my fault I still weight XYZ & if only I had worked out the day before, I might have lost some weight. I've even tried calculating BMR & adding up that & the calories burnt when I exercise to compare to the calories I take in when I eat and trying to figure out why despite creating the deficit required to lose weight, the scale is still the same as it was last December. And then, as guilty as I feel about taking a day off, I've also discoved that my workouts the day after are my best workouts! I can actually feel the muscles that I'm working, so I know I'm doing the exercise correctly instead of just doing it for the sake of saying I exercised that day. I also know when I've worked a muscle group properly because I do feel those muscles the day after (like today) or even hours after. I also feel way more invigorated & charged after those GREAT workouts. When I try to exercise when I'm sore (like today) & have to resort to my WATP video's, I end up feeling depressed and totally let down. I guess I was looking for or needed permission from somewhere to validate needing to take the day off when my muscles hurt or when I was just too tired/sick & I think I found a couple sites that gave me that. I also discovered a few things about myself & exercise that really surprised me.



Posted this part of the article so I could see it & use it as a reminder that too much exercise really can be a bad thing!
Soft Tissues Injuries
Avoiding rest or treatment for injuries can result in chronic damage to connective tissue.
People who exercise too much also experience muscle soreness when they do not exercise.
Instead of building muscle, too much exercise can destroy muscle mass, especially if the body is not getting enough nutrition, forcing it to break down muscle for energy.

Going to take tomorrow off. Going to try doing either 2 or 3 days of good, intense workouts & then take a day off, rather than trying to workout 6 days/week & only taking off 1 day. I've noticed the past few days that my workouts were much better.
