Hi Sandra,

Thanks for your response, I had lots of water, then I mixed a half tablespoon of creamcheese, with half teaspoon splenda and quarter teaspoon cinamon. Stoped the cravings . Then I went to bed, we live out in the country. No street lights at nights, lots of critters around. no walking without DH. and we have small children that I had to get to bed. Working out in my garden today. Just came in for some lunch and thought I would check out the posting.
Thank you again.
Warmest Regards,
Joy.

Joy, must write down your craving stopper not needed yet but always good to be prepared!

This is day 10 of induction and only down 2 lbs! Thinking of giving Atkins shakes a miss for breakfast and see what happens - (I add in 30 mls flax oil and this is why I started using them)....otherwise I haven't kept fitday for last 3 days but before that the carbs were around 16 to 20. Still on the right path to lose the 10 by Christmas

Hope you are all on track with your goals - keep going!!

Sandra

Hey everyone,

Welcome to the new challengers!

I have been crazy busy this past week with work and kid and husband and dog etc. But I have been working hard to stay on track. I had a gain over the weekend, but have been working to get back on track and to show a lose by next Monday.

It is very frustrating when you are losing or maintaining on the low carb plan and then you splash out once and suddenly it seems like you put on a couple of pounds over night. It is scarey to think that if you ever were to go away from this way of life that you would pack the weight back on so quickly! Why does it take 10 days to lose a couple of pounds and then one day to put them back on?

Anyways, my daughter (she's 15 months) keeps me really active, as does my job teaching Kindergarten! I don't sit down all day (hence my trouble checking in here regularly). It sounds like everyone is motivated, keep it up!

So what are "carbcheaters" and has anyone tried following the "slow carb for life" plan?

Cheers, Mich

Mich, I have wondered the same things about why one cheat has such a fast and hard impact. I had a couple of OOPS (one salad that I didn't realize until I was well into it that it had soggy little tortilla strips in it! And another night I caved and ate sushi with rice) and WOW at one point I had gained back 4 pounds - and this was in a matter of a week. Only now, a week or so later, am I back to where I was before cheating. BIG LESSON for me in cheating! Yikes!

Glycogen. It's the same reason why when someone first starts a low-carb diet they drop 5-10 pounds in the first week or two.

Goodmorning Everyone,
Welcome Wolfie,
I love this time of day, no one up but me. Had a good two days, got out into my garden, did lots of work, walked and played with my young ones, became an active mom. Checked the scale this morning down a lb to 159 can't belive I am under 160.
I am still cheat free since starting on October 18th. Just eating the required natural foods.
Got to clean my pond today and will be an active Mom again today. Having a good time in my life. My DH ate LC the entire day. He will lose far more weight then I will. I know.
Every day I learn more when I read the posting on this site.
Looking forward to Christmas I love this time of the year.
Going to get Hubby to put up the outdoor lights before the snow flies. Any one from the Niagara Region here please let me know, it will be great to get together.over the Christmas season.
Have a wonderful day everyone.
Warmest Regards,
Joy

Joy, awesome job!!!!!!! Update your 'stats' girl!!!!! Is it cold where you live right now? I'm in the Kansas City area and it was 77 yesterday. Weird?! We've not had a very normal autumn so far. I think the kids have only worn there winter coats two mornings?!

Hello all, welcome wolfie....

Didn't have a very 'in control weekend' but it's Monday morning and I'm back in the wagon! Bit disconcerting seeing the pounds I took two weeks to take off go back on so quickly - just as you were saying bankermom and losingmich! Going to see if I can shift them agian by the end of this week

Hope you all have a great day

Okay, I'm in.

Hybrid, please consider starting a journal. I have an interest in paleoanthropology, followed some of your links, and would enjoy chatting about this with people who don't glaze over at the topic.
