Default Italian Bake

I decided that tonight for dinner I would modify the ENCHILLADA recipie I got from 4beans4me and make it into an italian/lasagna recipie.

I have put the old ingredients in red so that you can see the changes I made:

CRUST
4 ounces cream cheese, softened
2 eggs
1/2 teaspoon Italian Seasoning (Seasoning for Tacos)
8 ounces Shredded Mozzarella Cheese (Cheddar Cheese)

Beat or whisk the cream cheese and eggs until smooth ( I cheated and used mixer). Add the italian seasoning (taco seasoning) and mix well, then stir in the cheese. Grease 9x13 baking dish ( I used 9x9 Square). Spread the mixture evenly over the bottom of the pan and bake at 350 for 35 minutes or until browned. You dont want it to be to dark Allow to stand for 5-10 minutes before adding topping.

TOPPING
1 pound ground beef
1 1/2 Teaspoon Italian Seasoning ( 3 Teaspoons Seasoning for Tacos)
8 ounce can tomato sauce (subbed for 8 oz. Enchilada Sauce)
6 ounce can tomato paste (added)
8 ounces Shredded Mozzarella Cheese (Cheddar Cheese)

Brown and drain Hamburger, stir in seasoning, tomato paste, and tomato sauce mix well. Spread over crust and top with Mozzerella cheese and bake an additional 20 minutes or until hot and bubbly.

Makes 8 servings.

This is my first attempt at modifying any recipie so my first batch had to much Italian seasoning (3 teaspoons thus I recommend cutting in half to 1 1/2) and I used no salt added tomato sauce, I will be using regular next time.

Wow!! Sounds delicious and with little amount of carbs!! I guess I'd feel guilty after eating it . I'm such a fan of Italian cuisine, thanx for the recipe.
